Bowling is always a great time, but only four teams are left because this is the final round, so i dont know how crazy itll be. Go to bar review too at brothers if you want to meet a bunch of current students, which usually doesn't get going until around 11. Also, downtown is awkwardly spread out, hanging out around eddy st. will probably be more fun if you're just visiting.Smallville wrote:yeah I was thinking about doing that, though wouldnt know what to do at either place lol so might just check out some of the apt complex's. If anyone has any questions about ND, law school in general, or whatever, feel free to PM me. I'm a 2013 grad and I still check these boards pretty frequently.

How would you describe your overall experience at ND along with dealing with career services and getting a job lined up b4 graduating?ndirish2010 wrote:If anyone has any questions about ND, law school in general, or whatever, feel free to PM me. Notre Dame is pretty much the best place in the world. I'm a little biased, but I spent six years there and I still miss the place every day. I love the faculty at the law school, I made some great friends, and I have already utilized the alumni network several times.Smallville wrote:How would you describe your overall experience at ND along with dealing with career services and getting a job lined up b4 graduating?ndirish2010 wrote:If anyone has any questions about ND, law school in general, or whatever, feel free to PM me. As far as CDO, there's so much turnover I'm not sure I can even tell you who is still there. They were making some improvements throughout my time there, but you certainly don't want to be relying on them to get a job. Your experience with CDO also depends quite a bit on your grades. If you've got a 3.9, you won't need them (outside maybe having the clerkship advisor help you prepare some early apps to feeder judges). If you have a 2.9, they might not be able to help you. For those in the middle, they can provide some assistance, but you will have to do a lot of the legwork yourself outside of OCI. I don't know that many people who actually got a job directly based on CDO, but they certainly helped a couple of people and perhaps opened a few doors.
I don't want to take up too much time with my own outcomes, but I graduated magna (not all that close to summa), clerked for a district judge (not in flyover country but also not in SDNY/NDIL), currently work in public interest litigation, and will be clerking for a circuit judge beginning in the fall. If you want to know more about any specific thing from my job outcome, PM me of course. I'd be happy to talk to an ND 0L about it.

Haha the campus itself is nice, just like the pictures pretty much. Seems a bit more spread out than my UG was. The surrounding area isn't too bad but once you get a few blocks away its nothing special. But overall seems pretty solid, excited to actually tour the school and that tmkittencastle wrote:What do you think?! Recently withdrew my spot and $ as well. Would have loved to attend, but the money just wasn't there. Best of luck to everyone!

im so back and forth... Im thinkin grad housing(Fischer) so I dont have to worry about summer months and having to pay/sublet for time I wont be there and its decently cheap ($620 i think) but also thinking 2br at Overlook or Foundry since theyre nice and I believe a little more roomy. Plus unless I find a roommate b4 I submit for grad housing itll be a rando which im iffy aboutsjp200 wrote:It was between here and USC, looking at here now most likely. Fischer is definitely the easiest and most affordable. IMO the price at the Foundry are ridiculous for South Bend. I did Fischer for 3 years and it went great. Just find a roommate through here or the FB group.

Decision made 4/18. Gut feeling says ding but I guess I'll find out soon.
I stopped checking the status checker since I went 3rd complete on 3/24 and then nothing changed for a while after that.

Does it show the deposits and amount toward the bottom? Not sure how their stuff works or if it means anything but maybe? Hoping for the best... Could try calling and see if they'll tell you over the phonetxaggie16 wrote:Decision made 4/18. Gut feeling says ding but I guess I'll find out soon.

Unless you have a shit ton of money to blow through for no reason, I wouldn't live at the Foundry. You can get a nice enough apartment for half that if you look hard enough.

Clover Village, University Edge, Overlook, Irish Crossing, Oak Hill to name a few. http://offcampus.nd.edu/moving-off-camp ... g-options/WanyeKest wrote:so what other grad-oriented, affordable living area besides Fischer is worth looking into? and how about the very cheapest place?
