Anyone have any experience with this?
no, but I applied for miami scholars so I'm hoping to hear back for that. Did the dean mention it in your original call?
No, it was never mentioned in the call. This was a totally different person setting up an appointment with the assistant dean for the Miami Scholars scholarship.

I hope you hear back!

Submitted my application yesterday and accepted today! What a turn around.

Hoping that scholly info will follow because at the right price Miami is a serious contender for me.

162/2.4, 4 years out of undergrad. Accepted after being put on hold for about a week (they are incredibly efficient). On the info sheet they send with the acceptance package it does say that scholarship info will follow in 3-4 weeks if you are to receive one, but it seems most people here have heard about the scholarship pretty quickly after the acceptance, or even simultaneously. Has anyone gotten the acceptance and then heard again about a scholarship offer 2+ weeks later? Its been 2 1/2 weeks since my acceptance and I'm still hoping for some money, although I'm feeling pretty doubtful.

What are your stats? I'm thinking of sending in my application but I am worried that it's too late in the game...

Pretty far above the 75th LSAT and right around the 25th GPA. It's definitely worth a shot and sending it in! Especially with their turnaround time.

Did your fiancee receive the Deans Merit Full Tuition Award? and if so what are the requirements?

I was offered the full tuition award as well and my letter stated minimum to maintain the scholarship is a 2.5 GPA. According to their 509 report, 12 students out of 145 lost their scholarships or had them reduced for the class matriculating in 2014-2015.

Not too worried about a reduction. More worried about losing the whole thing. Do you remember if you have the Dean Merit Scholarship? And also how hard in your opinion would it be to hold onto the scholarship for all 3 years.

I do have the Dean Merit Scholarship. And judging from those numbers there is a 92% chance people keep their scholarships. I don't know past that as I am still a 0L and guessing how hard it is going to be would be foolish when I have zero experience. I am pretty sure I am attending UVA anyway and will be sending Miami the scholarship denial soon.

Ok well both my LSAT and GPA are a little bit above the 75th according to LSN, but I think that probably my LSAT isn't super above like yours? (161) but I hope my numbers are good e Pugh for a decent scholarship; if so, I'll be there next year.

Are you seriously considering attending UM?

Nice! You will almost certainly get money. According to LSN, applicants with your stats got ~20k a year at Miami. Since it is later in the cycle, that may impact the amount a bit, but still, it seems like Miami is generous with scholarship money.

As for me, I'm definitely considering Miami. They gave me a very generous scholarship offer and I do have ties to South Florida. I'm still waiting to hear back from most of my reach schools, so I need to see what they offer, but I do expect Miami to be in contention.

Best of luck!

Hey, just found the thread!

I was accepted to UM about a month ago with a 34k scholarship. Was elated (although no call from the dean! :O)

I'm still abroad in Israel for another 3 weeks, wondering what anybody has to say about the campus/school/students, etc. Or anything they've heard about job stats. I feel like I've exhausted the standard internet sources and am looking for anything anybody else has found to help me make my decision. Thanks! :)

Been in the "on hold" status since the beginning of November. My LSAT score is under the 25th percentile, but I graduated undergrad with a 3.93 GPA, have work and tons of volunteer experience. At this point, I just want to know if I got in or not. What do you think my chances are? Thanks!

Do you speak Spanish?
Have you priced housing (in neighborhoods that are generally accepted as safe)?
How comfortable are you without solid public transportation, with toll roads, and sharing roads with possibly the worst drivers in North America?

Yes, to most of that actually. Born and raised in miami, proficient in Spanish.

Do with that said, yes I'm looking more for info about the school. Academics, employment, or any other even random bits of information to help me decide.
