I was wait listed this morning too. Are you out of state? They're only allowed to give 30% of their offers to out of state. I'm not sure the exact impact this has on admissions but there's something.

Actually, does anyone here from any insight into the impact this has on the process? I submitted a why Texas and my scores are a point below median

Quoting myself from page 1...

ie: weaker numbers from oos are less likely to be admitted.

I'm legally an in-state resident, although I live in Washington state currently. I'm on active duty Navy service up here and I have never changed my residency from Texas mainly because I knew I was applying to UT.

Below median is almost always problematic, I'd focus on a retake if you want to get in

Waitlisted this morning as well!! It's an odd feeling when the school you're currently attending as an undergraduate waitlists you :--)

As hope to anyone, I know a guy who had an LSAT score well below median and was accepted off the waitlist in July last year!

Credited...I'll be honest though, I was suggested to speak to my pre-law advisor at my UG...I never did b/c I was lazy. Good thing I didn't though, if she is anything like the others I hear about.

My problem is that I can't wait until July to know. And I was only a couple points below the LSAT median, GPA comfortably >75th percentile.

Well good luck to everyone from here on out. Apparently you have to have some stellar stats this year, or be OOS.

Several LSAT points below median is pretty significant. There's a huge difference between a 167 and a 164 or 165, even with a great uGPA.

I was going to PM this, but I think it could help a lot of other people who were waitlisted while hoping for an acceptance instead.

The key is to not give up. You say this now, and you probably believe or mean it, but the opportunity's still there. You're still in contention. I was in the same exact boat, and I told myself consistently that I couldn't wait till July (various personal and professional reasons, not least of which was cost considerations). Then I got the call randomly July (w/ $$), was at ACL in October, the trail of lights in December, and I'm heading back for classes in January. Just take it slow, and keep up with what you're doing.

Best of luck to all of y'all!

My issue is that the Navy needs to know in the next month or so where I'm going if I get out. I can't just move to TX this summer not knowing if they'll take me or not. Everything in the military takes way longer than it should, and separating from the Navy takes months. I'm just hoping there is some way they can reevaluate my situation given my service to the nation and situation.

You can delay shipment of HHG for like a year or more. I'm not sure what other issues you would have? Unless you're trying to separate early on some back to school program...

That's tough, especially because most decisions may come out in March or so and they may be better schools that you would rather go to (say a scholly at Cornell or something). I had a job-related issue as well (not military-related), and I had to talk to my supervisor about it and be very candid about my situation and the uncertainty of it going forward. It wasn't easy, but they understood. I don't have a military background, nor do I know people who went through it, but maybe talking to them is something you can do? I don't know about contacting the admissions office now (or ever, really) and basically pressuring them to decide because of your situation. Don't mean to sound harsh, but it seems kind of unrealistic to hope that would go over really well, you know?

Regardless, best of luck navy. I'm rooting for you.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
