Admissions Decisions for the 2013-2014 Cycle
The Interview
The interview process is relatively new, and fairly straight-forward. You have the option to interview in person, over Skype, or over the phone. The interview is generally low-key and all of the adcomms are very friendly, and during the past application cycle, interviews are essentially an acceptance, with most applicants either getting an offer at the end of the interview or an allusion to such an offer. Here are a list of reported questions/topics that other students have fielded:
- If you are a splitter, be prepared to address the lower number.
- Why law school? Why WUSTL?
- Why did you choose your undergraduate institution?
- Why did you choose that major?
- Be prepared to discuss your personal statement and resume.
- Have you ever been to St. Louis?
- Have you ever lived outside of <your hometown>?
- How do you feel your second BA/master/professional degree compliments your first?
- What area of law interests you?
Early Decision
Binding Early Decision Program. Acceptance comes with a full tuition scholarship. They have however offered early decision applicants the choice between rolling over to regular admission or a lesser scholarship.

Re: WUSTL Class of 2019 Applicants
I was offered admission and a scholarship last year but ultimately chose not to attend due to a job. I realized very quickly I made a mistake so I am reapplying this year. Hoping to get the same offer as last year. I would accept and deposit immediately if that were to happen. So I have some experience with Wash U admissions and negotiations if you have any questions.
Also, credit for the initial post goes to chuckbass. I ripped off his 2018 thread.

Checking in! I really want them to love me enough to give me a fee waiver, though.

What was the interview like? Hoping to get an email soon. WUSTL is the only school that shows me as currently under review.benwyatt wrote:Checking in.
Applied 9/1 but actually interviewed before the app went live.

Checking in, submitted on 9/2 and haven't heard anything since. Had a hidden waiver.

Re: WUSTL Class of 2019 Applicants
I visited campus this summer. It was absolutely gorgeous, and everyone I spoke to was super nice - I was impressed. I went straight back to the hotel and started looking up apartments, lol. I was also pleasantly surprised by the area surrounding campus. I was only there a couple of days, but I checked things out a little: went to Forest Park, took the metro downtown (Cards were playing, so I hung out at Ballpark Village), walked around a shopping area fairly close to campus. Didn't have any problems; everything seemed great.

I looked around CWE and DeBaliviere Place. There were some pretty nice places that seemed affordable.James.K.Polk wrote:Don't live on Forsyth, if you can help it. Good luck with your cycle everyone!
I had a similar response when I visited the campus for ASW. I'm glad I ended up being in CWE, because there are a lot of law students here. I think the other areas are the loop, and north and south of forest park (although I'm not as familiar with those, and some parts north of forest park I didn't like, but I've met a lot of students who seem to live around there).Scalvert wrote:I visited campus this summer. Checking in! Admitted last cycle but ultimately didn't receive a scholly. Reapplying this year earlier in hopes of getting one, and also of course retaking my LSAT to fix that also.

Welcome. Glad I'm not the only one reapplying after getting in. It's a weird feeling. I worry they will hold not attending this year against me. I know that's dumb but it's how my brain works.LadyProspero wrote:Checking in! Admitted last cycle but ultimately didn't receive a scholly. Haha no I understand, I feel the same way! And I actually really really want to go to Wash U! Just... Not at full sticker... I did ask them before I withdrew, and they said it in no way reflects on you when you reapply. Which of course is what you'd expect them to say anyway, but still? I hope we both get in (again)!regulartime wrote:Welcome. Glad I'm not the only one reapplying after getting in. It's a weird feeling. I worry they will hold not attending this year against me.
