Please pm me how it goes. I'm waiting on over a week for mine. Cutting it a bit close. Still negotiating with another school as well.

Just wanted to give some hope to all those trying to negotiate.

Did you just email them? Sorry I tried to PM you but don't know how this thing works

I realized the deposit is close so that's why I told them what I wanted to get a deposit from me quickly. It also helps that I'm going to law day. If They don't match, I showed the a copy of my letter from the other schools, one has a deposit next friday so I can deposit at USC, give them another week, then withdraw and hit the higher offer deposit

It wouldn't surprise that they realized that pushing up the deposit date was not a good idea and start sending acceptances in mass.

I just withdrew, so hopefully one of you great folks waiting will get the seat. Also freed up $135K for schollies.

And here I just got an email saying they had no money left and couldn't increase my scholarship. Might have to consider other schools now.

Well, they likely promise more money than they expect to give out. I think the common assumption that scholarships denied means more money available for others is incorrect.

Went on a tour and class visit last week:

"How accessible are the professors and the rest of the staff?"

"Well the professors have office hours during which you can come and speak with them. But most of the staff also has an open door policy where you can just come in whenever"

*tour ends*

"Can I speak with someone from admissions?"

"No."

"Can I make an appointment to speak with someone?"

"No."

ummmm k :?

I should have prefaced this post by saying I'm currently on the WL.

But this was just so weird to me. This is the only school that didn't let me speak with someone.

maybe because of the strict no interview policy? not sure, but that is weird

Not saying that I don't agree with you, just frustrated with the process.

Two questions:

1. Is it a bad idea to ask them for reduced cost or some kind of help with the deposit fee, I really am not in a good financial place to pay $1k .
2. they already said they could not give me more in scholarship, worth asking a second time?

Thanks in advance, sending everyone lots of good thoughts!

Brought two offers from top 25 schools of over 80K, was not bumped even a little from 60. This throws a wrench in things because I had a minimum offer I said I would deposit immediately that wasn't even at the 80K mark and I didn't get anything. Will deposit and then immediately ask for more before my last 80K+ deadline

They said no to me with the try again after deposit part. I may deposit and then work to get off the waitlist at UCLA and Northwestern. Still haven't heard from Vanderbilt yet. Pretty disappointed with USC's 2015 employment stats for biglaw. Hard to stomach going $150k plus in debt when only 38% of grads get the result I want.

Edit: I was offered more from another top ranked school that is equal to them, just based on cost USC is less attractive now.

Isn't 38% already better than the previous year?

It was actually one of the few schools to decline. It was 41% for 2014. I'd like to assume it's variance and more class-specific than a trend. Not a lot of data to establish a trend obviously, but UCLA and most others showed improvement. The big increase in people going to 2-10 firm size is odd.

Sorry has anyone heard this week? I'm pushing over a week now on final review, which with deposits due doesn't feel so hot.

Just have to change the 2014 to 2015, you can't find it on the site otherwise. They seem to be holding off on posting it officially for some reason.

I think they are screwed up by pushing up the deposit date especially since they seem so much slower than others.

Either today or deliberately after so they can see what class size is looking like? At this point it's either today or after right?

Edit: I'm just not holding my breath and payed deposits last night.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
