Were any of you who have heard back NOT under faculty review? I applied really late, just before the deadline, and didn't go UR until 2/9 (have been there since) so I'm not necessarily expecting good news, just wondering if I should be expecting any news at all.

Just read 10-20 pages back in the thread or google Berkeley Law Faculty Review.EastCoastICU wrote:Sorry if this question upsets anyone. I went UR 2/1 like many of you. What is faculty review? Sounds like something that has already passed?

Re: Berkeley C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
FR is offered to some applicants, but not all. It is just what it sounds like, the Dean lets the Faculty review your file and decide whether you will be admitted. My understanding is that Berkeley only offers 2 Faculty Reviews though. The decisions today were for FR2 (unlike what some people have been saying) so it is unlikely you will be faced with FR.EastCoastICU wrote:Sorry if this question upsets anyone. Anyone who went UR in February has no right to complain yet -- UR as of 1/15 and nothing!

Hey I'm in the same boat as you, but just because there's people starving to death doesn't mean I can't say I'm hungry.Du_Coeur wrote:Anyone who went UR in February has no right to complain yet -- UR as of 1/15 and nothing!

Well after getting pushed from FR1 to FR2 I got wait listed. Withdrew immediately of course. Tbh after getting yanked around by them this cycle, I probably wouldn't have accepted an offer by them anyways. Looks like I'm going to Chicago unless Stanford or Harvard call. Best of luck to everyone else.

Very true! I'm just teasing. And trying to distract myself from the wait.ProductofUnreality wrote:Hey I'm in the same boat as you, but just because there's people starving to death doesn't mean I can't say I'm hungry.Du_Coeur wrote:Anyone who went UR in February has no right to complain yet -- UR as of 1/15 and nothing!

Re: Berkeley C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
PLEASE HELP!!!! Berkeley Law was holding my application until the FEB score, which was released today. I just wanted to know if anyone has any information on how I should go about submitting an explanation for my scores? I'm a reverse splitter with a gpa from UCLA that is above their 75 percentile (3.96) and a LSAT below their 25 percentile (161). I'm not a minority, but I was raised in a low-income household and have amazing work experience. I'm also going to formally concede all scholarship offers in hopes that it boosts my chances (I'm not looking for any opinions about this, but thanks anyways). Any advice on the best way to do this? I'm going to call Berkeley soon, but I was hoping someone smarter than me might have information before I have the conversation with the law school. Thank you so much!!!

I would type out an addendum in a word document explaining whatever it is you want to explain. You don't want to just explain your situation to someone over the phone because you want to give them something they can refer to again later on. The initial information page in the Berkeley app should have a policy regarding what to do if you want to submit more info after you've already submitted your app. Follow those instructions to get your addendum to them. Hope this helps somewhat. Good luck with everything.Bbbrian wrote:PLEASE HELP!!!! Berkeley Law was holding my application until the FEB score, which was released today. Went into review on 2/1 and haven't heard back. Anyone have info on when the rest of us might receive a decision?

UR 2/9, no updates since. Wonder if they are waiting for Feb LSAT scores before the next round of decisions.

Anyone have thoughts on my status as still UR as of 1/15? I guess it's a 'good' sign I haven't been rejected yet, but it's getting to the point of being a bit ridiculous. I'm slightly above median GPA/LSAT, average/slightly above average softs, K-JD.

Submitted mid December and went UR at the same time and got dinged two weeks ago now. 75th GPA and LSAT, K-JD engineering. Good luck to you, hope your fate is better than mine.Du_Coeur wrote:Anyone have thoughts on my status as still UR as of 1/15? Hey guys! I'm a bit confused about the faculty review. How do you know if your application got pushed into faculty review? I applied in November, then went under review in February. Thanks!

You'd know if you were sent to faculty review. They send you a separate email.
Also, there's only two rounds of Faculty Review and the last one concluded last week.
