Boom, hit with the WL after FR...I like how candid they are about the waitlist hell. It's actually bizarre that Berkeley doesn't require a seat deposit...and that they don't hit up their WL until late June wow...

I had absolutely no business getting into this school with my GPA, but then again, I had no business getting in for undergrad either with my community college GPA and they let me in too! I'm feeling very lucky right now, I thought I had no chance at all.

4.0 gpa, 179 lsat, urm (although apparently urm doesn't matter at Berkeley?). WL vía email. A bit surprised, decently disappointed, but also got email from Harvard for interview, so hoping that will turn out well xD. Congrats to all that got in, compassion and empathy for those that didn't :)

In. High LSAT, poor GPA by Berkeley standards. LSN gave me 1/10 odds. No idea why but really pumped.

Strange. Berkeley isn't known for YP, but that sounds like a possible explanation. When did you get your Harvard JS1 (i.e. did you go complete in January)?

Waitlisted off of FR. 50 > GPA > 75, LSAT well above their 75%, mid december complete.

pretty disappointing but it's not out of the expected range given how my cycle's going. Maybe it's time to start taking a look at boosting the rest of the app for next year. Shame because Boalt was one of my top choices, congrats to all those who got in though!

This is classic YP. Did you write a Berkeley-specific PS?

Don't spend too long being disappointed, I'm sure you'll be getting some great news from the HYS set soon enough.

You don't have to wait. You can apply as soon as you have an offer that qualifies you.
I know that procedure-wise I don't have to wait, but is it advisable to do so though?

Because you can submit only one offer, which often is the best offer that you have, showing them your best alternative even before you know how much they price you could be potentially dangerous. For example, they could have give you $100K, but now they know your best offer is $50K, they could just match or exceed that offer a little to give you enough incentive but they won't pay you what you deserve.

On the other hand, I don't know how soon Berkeley will start releasing scholly offers, so I'm afraid they will run out of matching fund if I wait.

^^well, only you know the value of your offers. If you have a full-ride to any school on their list, I'd say it's time to open the negotiations.

Congratulations to all accepted and condolences to dings!

Were any of you who have heard back NOT under faculty review? I applied really late, just before the deadline, and didn't go UR until 2/9 (have been there since) so I'm not necessarily expecting good news, just wondering if I should be expecting any news at all.

I'm in the same boat - applied 2/1, UR 2/4. Crickets for weeks.

Sorry if this question upsets anyone. I went UR 2/1 like many of you. What is faculty review? Sounds like something that has already passed?

Yes. I applied 1/28, went UR 2/8, and got in this morning.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
