Anyone have an idea of how long after financial aid app is sent in folks are taking to get offers/aid packages?

Re: Cornell Law School c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
SO checked today and I had an updated "ready for review" status date (2/29)- even though I went to RFR on 2/16 after an interview. Guessing this means that I am being re-reviewed after the interview?
Not sure if I should expect a ding or reserve.
Anyone else get multiple status updates after an interview?

Got my award today (got my Need Access done in January, forms went out within the last two weeks) - substantially lower than the other schools I've heard back from, so probably takes Cornell off my list. I wasn't particularly interested in going there to begin with, so not the worst.

I submitted mine around noon on Friday. It was midterms for me that week so I'm glad I got it off before 5 PM.

I sent my documents in around mid February, got my award today. It's a bit less than I expected though.HALT_REPTAR wrote:+1BillClinton Jr wrote:Anyone have an idea of how long after financial aid app is sent in folks are taking to get offers/aid packages?

I received multiple status updates after my interview and was placed on the reserve list earlier today.Jamrockbwoy wrote:SO checked today and I had an updated "ready for review" status date (2/29)- even though I went to RFR on 2/16 after an interview. Just wondering if Cornell's reserve list works like a typical wait list, or will they have another round of acceptances/denials in May once first deposits are in?

Re: Cornell Law School c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
has anyone who has interviewed recently get questions that are NOT on this list??TheKisSquared wrote:In prepping for my interview I went through this thread and compiled final interview questions/advice. I've reproduced it here if it helps anyone else.
- Video Interview with unlimited practice time with sample questions. These sample questions do seem to differ from the actual interview questions. Once you start the timer, though, you have to finish. Each session asks you to record yourself answering four questions. For each questions you have 30 seconds to prepare and one full minute to answer. Suggested dress is business casual (Jacket, shirt and tie). If they can't see your legs, they obviously don't care what you're wearing there but... I'd uh stay on the cautious side.
- Admissions seems pretty generous/understanding with awkwardness, and barely anyone here (if anyone) seems to have been admitted without an interview. That said, do take it seriously. Better to be awkward and prepared than awkward and unprepared, right?
Questions found in this thread (THANK YOU EVERYONE). I tried to only pull questions actually used during an interview.
-Describe the best class you've taken
-what is your favorite book?
-what are you looking for in a law school community?
-what motivates you intrinsically?
-Discuss a time you helped someone achieve their goal. (x3)
-What do you do in your leisure time? (x3)
-Discuss a failure in your life.(x2 or 3)
-Describe your ideal law school.
-Why Ithaca?
-Why undergrad school
-What are your hobbies outside of work and school.
-Name an experience that broadened your outlook.
-What do you hope to attain with an education at Cornell.
-If you could go anywhere in the world for free, where and why
-Advice you'd give to a senior in high school re: picking a college major
-What your expectations are of a Cornell Law education
-Discuss a meaningful life experience
-Besides Cornell Law, what is attractive about Ithaca?
-What are three character traits your friends would use to describe you?
-Describe an experience that has broadened your perspective.

I actually ended up not getting my missed call, but luckily called the admissions office to let them know my phone has been acting up. Also a finalist! Looking forward to meeting you the 17th!Hildegard15 wrote:Got the call from Dean Ingram saying I'm a finalist for the Hughes!!

So now that Hughes is out of commission, what would be the best housing option be for a 1L? Off-campus?

Difficult to say "how" receptive they are, but they certainly increase awards depending on your other offers. Negotiation is tough to predict; you really just have to go through the process and see how it goes (usually well, but again, "how" well is going to vary based on the circumstances).JuliusCaesar wrote:Anyone have an idea on how receptive to negotiation cornell is?

There are 15 total finalists. Anyone know how many actual scholarships are given out?

Is it weird that I haven't gotten an interview request yet? Both lsat and gpa are at/around 75th. App complete on 1/8 and had a date change on 2/3 to ready for review and nothing since then. I'm constantly checking my clutter and junk but nothing. Starting to be very confused about this. Anyone in the same boat?

I agree this is weird. I submitted 2 weeks later with lower numbers and got an interview request Friday. Maybe call them? not sure if that's frowned upon or what. don't think it'd be YP related.skaw123 wrote:Is it weird that I haven't gotten an interview request yet?
