Now that everything is pretty much over, what are your thoughts on Stanford Law?

Umm, it's the best fucking school in the entire goddamned world. I will be there this fall and am personally just grateful that I get to post in the C/O 2019 thread, where we actually have a real OP in fliptrip. Eat caca and die, Dcc617. Your parents hate you.

It's chill bro, but I was already set on Harvard or Yale anyway. I got my shades on to block out all that shade from CA. Enjoy the earthquakes, hippies.

I personally can't stand Stanford, its administration, and especially its admissions office. I waited patiently for 4-7 months only to get waitlisted or rejected less than a week before May. Seriously, go home Stanford, you're drunk (unless you accept me off the waitlist, then I will love you)

Meh, I mean, this was a total long shot for me. I just wanted to see what would happen. This is what I thought would happen.

I'm totally indifferent to Stanford, because I am super happy with the option I am going with. Grow up, Dcc617. You're embarrassing yourself with this poll.

I will be Seymour Asses from Futurama, and Stanford is my Fry. DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS? I WILL FUCKING DIE ON THE WAITLIST!

I am a lurker. I may not have even applied anywhere this cycle. My motives for lurking this thread are entirely inscrutable and apparently I have nothing better to do with my life.

Dcc617, stop making every other poll option about yourself. While you are very handsome, your constant narcissism and self-indulgence has become off-putting.

Would last semester grades that increase my GPA (still between median and 75th though) and getting invited to join PBK and another honor society be a good "update" email? Its not that exciting but at this point I'm just like hi hello remember me plz sos

Sounds good to me. Good to touch base with anything that can pass as an update!

Joining Phi Beta Kappa is not an insignificant thing. What's wrong with us in TLS land? That's a great achievement and yes, please do tell SLS!

Does PBK indicate anything that GPA and transcripts don't?

I suspect it does, but I can only speak intelligently about how PBK worked where I went to school. Even if it means nothing that can't be discerned with a GPA and transcript, there's no reason to not share about it. It's something new, it's something good, and SLS wants to hear from you.

PBK nominations are supposed to consider more than grades; signifies a (nebulous) "well-rounded" student who achieves in and out of the classroom.

Awesome! I assume I should just email the general admissions people and say something along the lines of "Hello, I wanted to provide an update to my resume/transcript. I got X and Y and my fall semester grades are attached." Add in L# and a thank you and call it good?

EDIT: actually I'm not going to send grades because it looks like they need to go through LSAC and the classes themselves were not that impressive (lightest course load since I was taking the LSAT and doing apps) and the GPA bump doesnt put me over the 75ths.

My application has only been complete since 1/22. Wondering the same about whether or not I should send a LOCI.

I'd think more about the time you have left in the cycle as opposed to the time since you've made application. There's about six weeks left, so I'd go ahead and empty the barrel now. Send what you got. If you're really worried, wait another week, but you're going to have to get on the stick soon...this plane's coming in!

Always add in some kind words about SLS and one or two new things you've learned that just make you even more interested. They do stuff all the time, so scour the website...send a rando note to someone on Facebook you know who went to SLS to strike up a conversation, whatever, but I think it pays to show continued interested in your Letter of Continuing Interest :D lol.

Is there a deadline for the madness?

EDIT: realized I could just google it!

"The Office of Admissions will make every effort to send applicants a first response (accept, deny or wait list) by April 30."

Except some schools require you to tell them before that sooooo awesome

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but this isn't correct (at least in the sense that the real question is "how many people has S admitted so far?"). It's 288 if you add in those invited. This mistake keeps happening in the Y/S thread lol :D

Overly nervous to send my LOCI, so I keep putting it off. I feel like I sabotaged myself by procrastinating it, but finally sending today

Does anyone know when the admit weekend this year is, btw? Praying this will end up being relevant information.

so for those of us who submitted way back in october/november, is it safe to say if we haven't yet been rejected, we shouldn't expect to hear back until they do that big second-wave round review in april?
