Am I going to be the September ding?
Me too

But in all reality, Chicago has a bunch of review phases. Here are the different stages:

Application Received
Application Complete (you get an email for this)
Application Under Review (UR 1) <- indicates first committee review of your file
(OPTIONAL) Application Under Review (UR 1.5) <- I did not receive this step, but I believe some people did
Invited for Interview
Application Under Review (UR 2) <- generally immediately after your interview, indicates that the interview is done
Application Under Review (UR 3) <- indicates second committee review of your file
Application Under Review (UR 4) <- most (all?) people get this in the days leading up to decisions being released
"Invited to Interview" -> Interview scheduled
Acceptances: Email, status checker changes simultaneously
Waitlists: Email, status checker changes simultaneously
Not Acceptances:

I submitted on that day that the application opened. I'm that guy.

I'm curious what the numbers for that lone applicant were. That's pretty heart-breaking. Hopefully he or she ended up somewhere they're happy with.

I was thinking and it may have been a wait listed candidate or someone from the previous cycle who had just input the wrong dates in LSN. That's better than imagining the Adcomms just went LOLNOPE!

Is it, though? Pretty funny just to imagine some super serious adcomm at some super rigorous school just go, "Hey Jim, check this guy out LAWL".

Literally just waiting on a letter of rec to submit, kind of driving me crazy. I requested it a couple of months ago. Any tips to hurry up the process without annoying the professor?

When you figure it out, let me know. I'm in the same boat. Everything ready for me to whip out my credit card and press submit, except one letter.
Beyond frustrating, right?!? And thanks bears, but I work abroad so the drop in isn't exactly possible and I've already done the gentle reminder email twice. Not really sure where to go beyond this.

How many do you have? I submitted and then updated the application later. Don't worry too much yet, you're still really early. Acceptances won't start coming for awhile based on last year.

Kidnap the professor's husband/wife/child/other loved one. Send an amputated finger every hour on the hour. Or you could just send periodic emails, your choice.

After my recent visit, the idea of UChiraq is growing on me.

Ugh why is it taking so long to move from Complete to Under Review?! Is anyone else who submitted on Day 1 still waiting for their tracker to move to UR?
