Honestly, I don't think the LOCI can hurt, I will probably do one later today as well. Even if I somehow got in, I probably won't be attending but this is just a battle for my pride right now

Does anyone know what merit/need based aid looks like for those who do eventually get off the waitlist?

I am still on hold. I guess this means, at best, I am waitlisted?gjs13 wrote:In my wl letter from yesterday, it says all initial offers of admission have been made at this time. Not saying it's not possible that due to those accepted withdrawing that there could be more acceptances, but figured I'd share that. Don't mean to be meek, but I think it's good to be realistic. That said, good luck to the rest of you still waiting!J234 wrote:njkga wrote:Still no decision here. Well, I suppose that's inaccurate... I've made a decision, but they haven't yet.

Re: Northwestern c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
How do you draw your conclusion about the impact on the process length? Unless i'm unaware of something (more than possible) I'm not sure the facts support your inference.
thebrownnote wrote:How is that "not cool"? They're clearly trying to game their admissions stats/yield ratios by dragging out the process far longer than necessary or reasonable. Fuck 'em. As long as you decline the same day you find out if you're not going to attend, it's not like it's going to appreciably increase anyone else's delay.16to19 wrote:Not cool.

Re: Northwestern c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
If you accept someone off the waitlist and then they turn down your offer that day, they will probably then give your spot to someone else the next day or so. The only difference that sticking around on the waitlist without the intention of attending (other than being annoying to adcoms) makes is that it just delays admission to someone on the waitlist who will attend by a few days.16to19 wrote:How do you draw your conclusion about the impact on the process length? Wow, rejected. This one hurts as Northwestern and Cornell were my target schools and now rejected from both. GPA 3.6, lsat 171, complete in late December. WUSTL looking more and more likely.

Agreed. Did you apply late? That's very odd that you got rejected from both without a waitlist. Maybe you had some typos in your app or maybe your personal statement wasn't written well? C&F issues? Idk, but if i were you, I would probably get some ppl to reread my app, make sure its super tight, and apply as soon as you can next cycle. You certainly underperformed your numbers.Another1 wrote:Reapply next cycle...LastDayOfRooRoo wrote:Wow, rejected. Re: Northwestern c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Thanks for the advice everyone. I have certainly read about many people reapplying next year and I'm open to that. The only problem is I'm 34 already and not getting any younger. I am on waitlist at Harvard, Columbia, & Chicago as well as full ride + CoL stipend at WUSTL so I'll probably ride out the waitlist until August and maybe decide to take off a year then. If so I'll probably do ED at Northwestern, that's my biggest regret of the cycle (even though my numbers are a little low for that anyway).
