Honestly, I think if y'all actually saw me, you wouldn't be hugely surprised. Though QC, I am most definitely not 6 feet tall. God decided that giving me height would have made me too powerful.
So you're not saying no to the blunt weapon?
Well, I am an athlete. Most of the time there is gonna be some sort of blunt object in my hand.

Uh-oh. Xena's back. Change is afoot. Maybe it'll awaken the napping AdCom pantheon.

Okay, I just did some research on last year:

decision dates
12/15 - acceptances
1/20 - acceptances
1/21 - big wave of rejections
2/2-2/4 - several days in a row of acceptances and rejections

it seems like we are overdue for rejections (especially since this cycle seems to be about a week ahead of last years) but may have to wait till next week for JS2s.

Granted... every time I do this it is proven wrong. (HLS pls prove me wrong with a JS2 today)

By this timing, we should be on track for JS2s around the end of this week.

If we are running a week early, then this week is the week that corresponds with Feb. 2.

You know, I wonder if they just decided to hold off until the application closes on Feb. 1. Maybe they're busy filing away all of the folks who are just now submitting.

Hmm, I guess I haven't gotten in cause I have no idea how to set an avatar. O well.

In other news, how bad will the fact that my fall grades dropped my GPA .04 effect my admission chances?

If you submitted before those grades were included in your transcript, you'll be fine unless they ask for an update.

If they request to see your updated grades, probably detrimental since they are already wanting to take a second look at your academic record.

If you submitted with these grades included, they probably won't care about the dip, just the overall gpa.

If they decide to reject me, I think the adcomms should send me a certificate honoring my service to the thread. I don't think that's asking too much.

But joking aside.....

Uhoh, does that mean I was wrong to send the updated grades to LSAC (without it being requested)? I thought that was expected

Did it make you dip below one of their quartiles (i.e. from above to below median)? If the change was just intra-quartile, I can't imagine it really matters.

Nah, I think they feed more off the hopes and dreams of prospective 0L's. I'd contribute mine, but I lost them in the snow over the weekend.
To be safe we'll just use virgin 0L's then.

Are you happy Adcoms?!?
Looks like I need to find my hopes and dreams and bring them tomorrow. Please heat up the caldera for me!

I haven't received mine yet and I was admitted 1/14. I'm in California though.

Can someone make a thread for HLS in the C/O 2019 section plz? :(

That's probably my fault. I did tell cantorb that I would seek to threaten his authority if I ended up being accepted and he was already the OP....

I find myself automatically thinking that as well, but as a varsity collegiate cross-country/track runner mine doesn't hold up very well.

I wonder what Hilde thinks I look like?
I always imagine her as being about six-feet tall, muscled like a rugby player, and carrying some sort of blunt weapon
Yeah, it always throws me off when I see your posts about running.

And I think of Hilde's old Xena picture.

And if anyone's curious, I am, in fact, a stretchy yellow dog.
Only in my wildest dreams do I have a head of hair like this.
I really wish I looked even remotely like Jon Snow.
Y'all are making me nostalgic for my old Xena tar. I think it's time for a change back.

After more js2s go out we're gonna have a "guess who" game based on the Facebook group.

Hilde you have no authority over the c/o 2019 thread until you apologize for your lack of loyalty to hls on these forums.

I make no apologies for being pragmatic. My love for HLS will never die, but it will most likely end up being unrequited. If they show me any sign of favor I'm sure I'll return to my devoted and lovesick ways.
