Re: Harvard C/O 2019 Applicants
I went complete on 11/30 just wondering if there is a date change for UR or a status change in the checker and how long it is taking people to get from complete to JS1 or ding.

Is it weird that my application status has been "application received" since I first submitted it? Shouldn't it be complete by now? I submitted it in mid December.

Current HLS student here, the student orgs today got an email from admissions about getting in touch with admitted students "later this month," so I assume they will be handing out JS2s soon. Hang in there and keep your hopes up!

Does anyone recall that gap between this email and the JS2 wave? I know I've seen reference to this before, but I can't find it in this thread.QuentonCassidy wrote:*"accidentally in love" begins playing in my head*flyingboy wrote:Current HLS student here, the student orgs today got an email from admissions about getting in touch with admitted students "later this month," so I assume they will be handing out JS2s soon. My impression is that as a general rule the higher you go up the rankings, the less relevant the status checker is, e.g. Harvard doesn't bother with any updates between complete and decision, and Yale doesn't even have a status checker.Budfox55 wrote:I applied 12/16, received an app acknowledgement 12/17 and went "Application Complete" 12/23.GreekOmega12 wrote:Waiting on the same thinghindo wrote:Is it weird that my application status has been "application received" since I first submitted it? This is likely a good indicator, as they contacted alumni about getting in touch with the first batch of JS2S almost immediately after they went out (possibly even before - my guy waited until he was off from work for the holidays to have time to call me).Hildegard15 wrote:Thank you for the insider info and encouraging words!!flyingboy wrote:Current HLS student here, the student orgs today got an email from admissions about getting in touch with admitted students "later this month," so I assume they will be handing out JS2s soon. Re: Harvard C/O 2019 Applicants
Last year's first January calls began around 10am ET. http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 5#p8324515.turndown4brunch wrote:What time of the day are JS2 calls?
That said, December's wave began around 3:00pm. http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 5#p8989778
So...¯\_(ツ)_/¯

For those who are submitting updated transcripts through LSAC, are you also emailing HLS admissions to alert them to the update?

Yeah pretty sure they do that every year. Kind of a genius way to up their matriculation % tbh, even though I doubt anyone would ever admit to being influenced by something that smallbrooklynboy wrote:Haha they sent December admits our HLS email addresses already... how presumptuous!

Everyone loves to be wooed a little bit. I have a buddy who's choosing between HBS and staying at his current job. He's definitely being swayed on the margins by all of HBS's free schwag and nice little touches, like the email address.jetsfan1 wrote:Yeah pretty sure they do that every year. Yeah, I have to say, when that email came in, at first I actually felt swayed by the fact that I had access to that email and how cool it felt, and then I immediately felt stupid for letting them play me like that.mdnyc wrote:Everyone loves to be wooed a little bit. Someone from the admissions committee is probably forwarding this thread to the rest of the office so they can all get a good laugh.WinterComing wrote:WinterComing wrote:Yeah, I have to say, at first I actually felt swayed by the fact that I had access to that email address and how cool it felt, and then I immediately felt stupid for letting them play me like that.mdnyc wrote:Everyone loves to be wooed a little bit.
