Agreed. Someone could easily say this about any region.doublehoohopeful wrote:Have you actually ever been to these places? Doublehoo, please re read above post more closely for the tone of my statements. For real though, one of my professors brought baklava and other goodies from Dearborn, MI one day. It was some of the best I've ever had.The Abyss wrote:basedvulpes wrote:

You probably meant Dearborn, which is where the largest concentration of Middle Eastern folks live. It's also right around where I grew up.doublehoohopeful wrote:For real though, one of my professors brought baklava and other goodies from Deerfield, MI one day. Yeah, the food is incredible. Baklava, tabouli, shawarma, etc. So delicious.

Oh yeah. Voodoo Donuts is insane. They once made a NyQuil one, but were ordered by local health officials to stop. The Abyss wrote:Is that a Captain Crunch Berries doughnut I see there in the middle?doublehoohopeful wrote:They know how to make a donut, tooThe Abyss wrote:

Re: c/o 2019 Applicant Compendium (2015 - 2016)
I typed out a really long and excessively thought out reply about how a lot of what I hear about the South really does outrage me (sorry, General), but that I sort of find the idea of studying there appealing precisely for the reasons you mentioned. I feel like it would teach me how to live and work with people who hold radically different values, without resorting to moral outrage or self-righteousness or anything (because we all know that that's annoying an ineffectual). But you put it much better and more succinctly than I did!Generally wrote:This makes me want to yell at you. Don't label regions as psycho please There is lots that could be said of northerners/the north, but I choose to acknowledge it is a different culture but not a "bad" one. I am interested in studying up north because it would be something new, I might just learn something from people who think a bit different than me. The same could happen with you in the South.Hildegard15 wrote:Us Northwesterners hold a healthy level of fear in our hearts for the psycho-ness that seems to permeate from the South.
