I'm UR1 12/11 and still there. It says on the status checker that everyone gets two readers... so I keep telling myself not to worry. If only I listened!lawandorder2019 wrote:I went UR1 on 11/30 and am still at UR1, so I feel your pain. Re: Penn c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
regarding the date changes: the time between UR1 and UR2 you describe was similar for me as well. my stats are not as good as yours, but nearly. my understanding is that this sort of date movement is typical (therefore, in my mind, good).mdu wrote:So my latest date change is 1/5. I think it's UR2 (I'm pretty sure I was UR 12/14 before this). How good of a sign is this?
FYI I am above both 75th's... but I didn't write a Why Penn.
On that note, is there a way of submitting one now? (applied 11/1)
Also, should I send updated transcripts from Fall 2015 to show that my (pretty good) GPA stayed the same? (if so, how?)
Sorry if any of these questions are elementary... new poster here...
Thanks
regarding the Why Penn letter: the wisdom i've seen previously dispensed on this forum is that someone in your position should wait until a decision is made and then, if waitlisted, send a letter of continued interest. i have no idea if this idea is misguided or not, but i've seen it said with confidence by strangers on the internet.
regarding GPA: not sure! to me it seems like a good idea -- maybe even with a little addendum that says "i <3 penn"

Responding regarding your Fall 2015 grades. You can send an updated transcript to LSAC and they will disperse it to all the law schools you applied to.meowmers wrote:regarding the date changes: the time between UR1 and UR2 you describe was similar for me as well. my stats are not as good as yours, but nearly. my understanding is that this sort of date movement is typical (therefore, in my mind, good).mdu wrote:So my latest date change is 1/5. Oh God. Good thing I'll be too busy with sorority recruitment all weekend to worry about it too much.clurrburr wrote:Decisions on Monday!! Shout out to twitter
Although I seriously doubt that Penn would post that status if they were only sending out rejections. So there have to be some acceptances, right? *fingers crossed*

Thanks all for your responses!
So just to be absolutely clear: If I send LSAC an updated transcript, they will automatically forward it to all the schools I applied to?
Nothing else to be done on my part? (That sounds just too easy and logical !)
Also, regarding the suggestion to sit tight and only worry if wait-listed: Would that put me at a disadvantage for schollies? And would it eliminate the possibility of deferring?
In general, if I did want to submit a Why Penn? at this stage, how would I go about it? Through LSAC? Or just an email to the admissions office with an attachment and some sort of explanation for adding it late?
Thanks in advance guys...

Wait, what if they said they're releasing some decisions Monday but it's a trick and they actually send them out before?

Quick question for those already admitted, or anyone who knows: does the status checker change after Penn calls? I won't have cell service Monday when they are calling, but I will have Internet access, so I hope the answer is yes

Yes, the status checker changes to "offer of admission" shortly after the phone call.strongbadge wrote:Quick question for those already admitted, or anyone who knows: does the status checker change after Penn calls? Is writing a why penn essay really supposed to make that much of a difference?

Only the admissions committee can accurately answer your question. Answers from TLSers are pure speculation. However, I think it's safe to assume that expressing interest is not a bad thing.fooniff33 wrote:Is writing a why penn essay really supposed to make that much of a difference?

It's not like I won't be refreshing all day, but do we have an estimated time of day for decisions?
