Re: UVA c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I applied on 9/20. Interview offered last week, interviewed this week, admitted after the interview.Generally wrote:Congrats! When did you apply?sublimation wrote:Admitted
However, based on my numbers (170, 3.25) it seems unlikely I will get scholarships. I'm going for PI so debt is pretty scary. Anyone else with PI ambitions seriously weighing UVA at sticker?
Also, I am so confused right now
Sorry if my numbers throw off your predictions. If it helps, I have some decent PI softs and a strong PI-oriented PS and 'Why UVA' essay.

Congrats!!! Based on this I'm betting I'm probably being waitlisted (YP?)... (171/3.8 with likely similar PI softs, PS and why UVA). I went complete 9/11, interviewed 9/15, and still nothing. Wishing I'd been interviewed by Cordel.sublimation wrote:

I think there's hope! You have identical stats to another PI person who got admitted, and very very similar to mine as well.darlenealderson wrote:Congrats!!! Re: UVA c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I'll keep all that in mind, and try not to give up hope until mid-october. I think it's just hard because I've seen people interviewing after me (even with the same interviewer) who have gotten in. Mylsn actually says that I'm a 42% chance though, so I think I'm just trying to keep expectations reasonable and not let anxiety mess with my head.Generally wrote:I keep telling myself that. People last year seemed to get stuff up until a month out from applying in September. Still from everything I have seen, and I have been ocd neurotic searching, if you applied in September and don't here by end of October you are probably waitlist.urbanist11 wrote:Until you've been waitlisted or rejected there's plenty of hope. I know it's really stressful, but none of us truly knows what admissions is thinking. Easy to say as an admitted student, sure, but just wanted to tell you not to throw in the towel. We're still in September, after all.

Easy, last year many applicants who were rejected/waitlisted/pending ended up at a T6.

No problem, so long as you promise to grant me a green card after you graduate from HLS and is elected the president ;PGenerally wrote:I like you. Can you just send me encouraging messages every day about my impending HLS acceptancezty wrote:Generally wrote:

Oh I see. Sarcasm eye roll is an advanced phrase for me, didn't know its meaning until now. However, I am in SH doesn't necessarily mean I am from China (LSAT practice!), though I actually am.Generally wrote:Dammit I used the sarcasm eye roll! Why am I being taken literally??zty wrote:

In case of further confusion. You are in China, I know China is not Japan, and Shanghai is in China.
Lets hang in this together. Hope is not lost.chaipancakes wrote:Seriously, this whole being UR for forever while everyone else gets admitted sucks the jealousy/neuroticism (not a real word, it's cool) is real, y'all
