Chances of coming in off several waitlists?

Post by VPlaw » Thu Apr 16, 2015 2:37 am

What chance do you think I have of getting off the waitlist.
15 applications:
Accepted: 6 total (3 scholarships no stips/1 scholarship with stips)
Rejected 3 total
Waitlisted: 5 total (withdrew from two waitlist) The three I opted to keep are as follows: William & Mary; George Washington; Notre Dame
Hold: 1: WUSTL

Therefore, a total of four (three waitlist and one held)

Questions: Is there a chance I will be accepted to any of the four?

Of course, you have a chance of being offered admission from these waitlists.

Curious as to which waitlists you declined.

George Mason, and U of A. I got other offers and decided it was not fair to remain on those waitlist. Maybe I could had kept U of A??? O well, it is done :-)

No decision yet. They are "holding" or deferring for now.

U of A, as in Arizona?

You seem to be applying to random schools.

Waitlists are inherently unpredictable. Of course you could manage to climb out of the abyss. But consider a retake for June to buttress your chances, should you still be waiting. If you increase your score and don't get good offers, sit out and reapply next year.

I see, so they still have to give you a decision (although that decision may be 'waitlist') by some deadline... shouldn't that be quite soon? Maybe at least wait for those if I were you

Yes Arizona. The schools are not random. I am just not geographically dependent. Being a splitter (in come schools) I always heard to apply far and wide. I am glad I did because I had some nice choices.

No stated deadline. Just sent me an email stating they were holding until future. I hope sometime this month to hear an accept or waitlist?

I thought of that. I do not want to wait another year. But, may consider another crack at the LSAT.

I thought of that. I do have solid offers and want to start this year. I have decent scholarship offers too.
