How to know if you should withdraw?
1) You'd never actually attend- WITHDRAW
2) You've deposited/signed a lease for X school while WL at Y (and would never attend Y) - WITHDRAW
3) You're riding the WL for sh*ts and giggles- WITHDRAW
PLEASE and TYIA

Thanks for the reminder. When are the earliest deposit deadlines, anyway?

Re: Waitlist PSA
It varies by school, of course. But it seems April 1st, 15th, and 30th are big dates along with May 1st.Kosmopol wrote:Thanks for the reminder. When are the earliest deposit deadlines, anyway?

Re: Waitlist PSA
That's not a dumb question at all. You just email them saying, "Hey, I'm glad you accepted/waitlisted me but I have decided that I would like for you all to withdraw my application...blah blah blah.."curlietop86 wrote:stupid question: how do you withdraw? does it vary by school, or do you just email the admissions office and withdraw for all of them? i'm just starting to withdraw from a bunch of places now.LegaleZy wrote:As deposit deadlines come closer I thought I'd make a PSA on behalf of myself and other WL applicants. Please don't forget to withdraw. If your cycle has ended and come to a close and you've decided on a school... CONGRATULATIONS! Let those schools whose hallowed halls you have no intention of gracing in the fall know, so those of us waiting have a chance. Thanks.

Re: Waitlist PSA
I just called each of them. Some you can just do over the phone, but others want it via email. I called so I could make sure I was provided with the right email just in case.curlietop86 wrote:stupid question: how do you withdraw? does it vary by school, or do you just email the admissions office and withdraw for all of them? i'm just starting to withdraw from a bunch of places now.LegaleZy wrote:As deposit deadlines come closer I thought I'd make a PSA on behalf of myself and other WL applicants. Dear Admissions Committee,
I am honored that you have given me the opportunity to join your
prestigious law community. However, I have decided to consider other
options more heavily and will not be enrolling in your 2018 incoming
class.
Thank you for your consideration.

Re: Waitlist PSA
With deposit deadlines coming, good luck to those of us depending on waitlists. May folks withdraw or miss their deadlines to our benefit!

Nope, still waiting for my top choice, Houston, and a couple others.BillClinton Jr wrote:Anyone seeing movement at their school(s) of choice?
Only admissions office that contacted me over the past few weeks with an update was George Mason, which I don't think I'd attend anyway.

Re: Waitlist PSA
We are getting into the heart of WL season and I appeal to all who are holding onto WL at schools they have no intention/desire to attend to PLEASE WITHDRAW! If you have made a deposit and have signed a lease for an apartment, but are hanging onto a WL somewhere... Let it GO! Free Yourself! PLEASE! For those unsure of how to withdraw I provide a template or you can use the one above or make your own...JUST. WITHDRAW!
Dear Admissions Committee,
Every year applicants such as myself apply to many excellent law schools such as yours. Unfortunately, I cannot attend every fine institution that I applied to, and I regret to inform you that you have not been selected for my Fall 2018 academic year. Thank you for considering me as an applicant, and best wishes for all of your future endeavors.
Sincerely,

Good Stuff. This might be one of the drawbacks of this application system.

Re: Waitlist PSA
Also, you might want to change the title to something like "If you don't intend to enroll please withdraw" to make it more clear. Just my two cents of thought.LegaleZy wrote:We are getting into the heart of WL season and I appeal to all who are holding onto WL at schools they have no intention/desire to attend to PLEASE WITHDRAW! Re: IF You don't intend to enroll...
It's a shame this has to be said. I always try to withdraw as soon as I know I'm not going there.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
