Weekend Decisions? Forum

Can anyone clarify whether law schools release decisions on the weekends (whether the decision be deny, waitlist, or acceptance)? And, if so, which schools? (I've applied to almost all top 20 schools)

Just so I know whether I should check my status checker on the weekends, too lol

Some schools do so, some do not. In some cases (Mich), the status tracker updates based on what was entered the day before, so checking on Saturdays is wise. As a rule of thumb, the further you get from the top, the less likely the school is to update on weekends, from what I've gathered at least.

From my experience, weekend decisions are possible but rather uncommon.
I received my Duke RD acceptance on 2/15 (Sunday) via email,
and the decision date on my status checker was 2/14 (Saturday).

Hairbear is just wrong. I'd know quite a few T14s have released decisions on weekends before. Hell, last week, I got an acceptance from Yale at midnight on Sunday. I was also accepted by Penn, Duke (although it was priority track), and UVA on the weekend. Really weird, but these admissions offices work extremely hard (except for Northwestern, sorry, sore spot for me) and definitely do work nights and weekends too. I'd say the probability is that you'll hear back during the week but you could hear during the weekend.

Just trying to let a homie enjoy his weekend. No need to check status checkers on a Sunday, an email will come!
