75th in both lsat and gpa. Didn't hear back yet about scholarship money though - did anyone else?
Hard to decide between Villanova and Temple though. I think I plan to see what the money looks like.

Same stats and received full tuition last Wednesday. If I decide to stay local I will choose Villanova over Temple.

Temple is usually pretty stingy with $$. I'll have to wait to see their offer and maybe negotiate. Other than that, I feel as if there are no real differences in the schools. I have family members that graduated from Nova law and were extremely well placed throughout the city. I also spent four years of undergrad in the city and kind of want a change of pace. Granted I don't even know if I will end up in Philly, let alone Villanova, but I just have a feeling I would end up there over Temple if I were to choose to stay local.Bilb0Baggins wrote:Why nova > temple?Westofeden wrote:ineedacupofcoffee wrote:75th in both lsat and gpa. They started giving out full scholarships two weeks ago.
My question is, does anyone know for sure that they will end up here? The full scholarship offer is very tempting. Personally, I want to practice in Philly and from experience I have seen a lot of Nova grads with great jobs; however, the current employment and salary numbers are daunting. I will have virtually 0 debt upon graduation since I live in the area and have been working to cover books etc.. I really want to be set on Nova but I'm just not sure yet

Similar situation with me. I applied all over the country but I am from South Jersey and want to practice in Philly. Torn between an eventual full from Nova or a max deal(already secured) from rutgers camden where i would have to pay about 4 a year in tuition. Rutgers makes more sense as I could live at home with my parents whereas Nova i would have to get housing in philly.Westofeden wrote:ineedacupofcoffee wrote:Anyone hear about money yet?

Within the philly market, who performs better? Or is it a wash?

My guess, and this is purely a guess, is that they perform pretty much the same in Philadelphia. I would say that Villanova carries its name well though. In the suburbs Nova is both extremely well perceived and respected. Its alumni network may branch westward of Philadelphia more than Rutgers, and vice versa for Rutgers, which branches eastward of the city back into Jersey. Housing in Philly isn't terrible and living in the city or around it might actually be more fulfilling than living at Jersey (no offense). Seems like a coinflip situation for you as well!

I'm WL at Georgetown, but if that doesn't work out, I'm going either Nova or Temple - I'd have to visit to decide. I also have zero debt from graduation, and know a Nova grad with a great job. From what I've heard, it's a respectable PA school, which is really what I want if I can't get a "big name".Westofeden wrote:ineedacupofcoffee wrote:Anyone hear about money yet?

It's basically a wash. Rutgers has a better overall LST score than Nova or Temple. But they do not do quite as well with Art. III+BigLaw:JerryLundegard wrote:Similar situation with me. Rutgers= 2.2% Art. III + 6.5% BigLaw = 8.7%
Temple= 3.4% Art. III + 11.2% BigLaw = 14.6%
Villanova= 2.5% Art. III + 12.5% BigLaw = 14.9%

I have been accepted since december and am anxiously waiting to hear if I get any money. I've received money from all my other acceptances (Hofstra full, Brooklyn 25,000, American 7500) but really would like to know soon about money from here. This is where I want to go and need the money to be able to do so.

In today officially. Hoping that I qualify for a full as my numbers are above the 3.6 and 156 lsat. If I get the full ride I am for sure going to Nova and living in center city.
