Anyone know how generous they are with scholarships usually if both GPA and LSAT are over 75th percentile?

Re: Syracuse C/O 2018
I've been following this in law school numbers from the last admission cycle. People who scored 157 or higher typically have been offered 33k a year which is almost 3/4 tuition. I noticed a few with really high numbers being offered 43k which is close to full tuition.jcharnetsky wrote:Anyone know how generous they are with scholarships usually if both GPA and LSAT are over 75th percentile?
I think the only full rides they give out also have a stipend attached and these are also given to other graduate students as well so you're not only competing against the law student pool, but also the other schools. Syracuse has the Maxwell school which is one of the best government schools in the country so you have to have a high gpa/lsat to be getting one of those scholarships.

Hmm it's definitely a college town vibe immediately around campus. There isn't much to do in Downtown Syracuse but it's still a city. Everything in the area is basically designed to cater to students so it's a fun time. Extremely affordable compared to other areas. Lots of good/cheap eats and entertainment that students typically enjoy.dr1366 wrote:Does the area have a college town vibe? As far as cold...it's all relative, where are you from? It's definitely not as cold as Chicago, but a little colder than Boston. But the cold was never really the problem, it was just the sheer amount of snow coupled with hilly roads. The school/city does an excellent job at plowing the snow quickly though

Good to know. I grew up in central MA but have lived in Arizona for the past 10 years. I'm afraid my first winter I'd be in shock.cusenation wrote:Hmm it's definitely a college town vibe immediately around campus. There isn't much to do in Downtown Syracuse but it's still a city. Re: Syracuse C/O 2018
If you want to park on campus directly you're going to have to purchase a parking permit. I think grad students get priority for certain garages. There is free parking immediately off-campus but those are just first-come-first-serve. Almost all of the housing options will include parking. I don't think finding parking is difficult though, it was never an issue for us as undergrads as long as we were willing to pay for our own spot somewhere.hereisonehand wrote:What's the parking situation at Syracuse? In via status checker. Applied 11/19. Are they generous with scholarships? Also, I see they cover the costs of hotels if you're more than 150 miles away--is this a long drawn out process or they just get it done quickly?

Hey rebecker ! I have so many questions about Syracuse haha. Do you know anything about the social life at the law school ? I know there's a lot of work to be done, but I will be moving from France, so it would be nice to hang out and meet some people haharebecker wrote:In via status checker -- Complete 1/15, Accepted 1/22.

I can't speak for the law school specifically but the social scene at Syracuse is pretty great. There's always something to do for any kind of person; it's a big party school but you don't have to party (I'm a homebody). I know a few law students who all really enjoyed their experience and we have a pre-law/law fraternity on campus so you can connect that way.melodiefrench wrote:Hi Everyone !
