Awesome Banner Toby, I've got family in Provo, and it is absolutely beautiful with the mountains in the background. I'll hopefully be applying soon, assuming I can get all the extra paperwork in! Has anyone been admitted yet?

Sup Patton, I haven't sent in my app yet. My numbers ought to get me admitted, but I am retaking and therefore putting off my PS.

Bump for first page.
I landed a pretty sweet job and will more than likely take a year off, but I may still throw a few apps out.

How do scholarships work at BYU? Mormon/non-Mormon? Numbers? Diversity?

Strictly scholarship speaking, it's all dependent on numbers with a little WE. Tuition $ is where the Mormon/non-Mormon part comes into play. Acceptance/denial is where diversity comes into play--they have way too many Mormon applicants and would love more diversity, but finding people who agree/are willing to abide by the honor code is rare outside Mormon/Islam culture (read as: no alcohol).

Are they pretty generous in terms of aid? Wouldn't mind leaving so close to great ski resorts.

Their discounted tuition is seen, by them, as somewhat of a scholarship for everyone, outside of that they operate under the assumption that Mormons want to attend their school (unless their numbers are markedly higher than median then they offer scholarships) and they don't offer much with regard to scholarships, and for non-Mormons they try to snag them with aid. This is based on word of mouth and not data.

I had an interview with Dean Sorenson as well. I was surprised how pleasant she was to interview with. Did she happen to tell you how you would be receiving their decision? Mail,E-mail, phone call, ect?

ChiefOstenaco, did you also have an interview before you got the call? I had my interview last month and haven't received a call so I'm a little nervous. Congrats though!

It went into review last week. I got most of the application in the 2nd of January, but I didn't have my ecclesiastical endorsement in until a few weeks later. I had my interview with Dean Sorenson on Friday. She called me this morning to let me know that I've been accepted!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
