Boston College C/O 2018 Applicants

Application Statistics:

Stats 25% 50% 75% 25% 50% 75% Size
C/O 2016 160 164 165 3.41 3.61 3.69 230
C/O 2017 159 162 164 3.32 3.51 3.64 230

Application Timeline:

We accept applications from mid-September through April 30th for the following August's entering class. Because we have a rolling admissions process and begin reviewing completed files long before the application deadline, we urge you to submit your application well before the April 30th deadline and to take the LSAT no later than December.

Although the committee endeavors to make comparable decisions throughout the cycle, the fact that an application is completed early may favorably affect its chances.

I got the fast track two weeks ago, but I'm waiting for my September score to be posted before I apply.

I applied 3 weeks ago, sadly I solicited a fee waiver before the fast track invite went out.

I mentioned this to you in another thread, but I did the exact same thing. Really hoping they put it in the same applicant pool

Accepted Tuesday via Fast Track. Any of you guys in Boston? I moved here in January for work and am considering BC just because I love this city so much.

I'm from Boston but moved to NYC for undergrad/now working. I wouldn't mind moving back there, Boston is an awesome city

I'm glad I'm not alone. I'm getting really anxious since others have started to hear back!

How long between sending the app/ hearing back for those who've heard back already? I sent my application on Wednesday.

Do more students live in the newton area or boston proper? I was in boston for UG and want to move back asap so I'd like to know where to look right away. Heard anything about how OCI has been or 3L job hunting?

Re: living situation, it's pretty evenly split between the Newton-area and Brighton/Allston-area. Not many live in Boston proper, though. Brighton/Allston are noisy and full of undergrads. I live in Newton, 5 mins walking distance from the law school, no car. There is a free shuttle service for those who live in the Cleveland Circle area of Brighton, but I hear it is not particularly reliable.

I'm a public interest gunner, so I have no idea how OCI has been, sorry!

Try this thread for OCI ?s: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 1&t=237478

Btw, my #'s were 164/3.82 and I got a pretty sizable scholly.

Boston College estimated cost of living at around $18,000. Do you feel that this is a "doable" living budget for the academic year? For someone truly debt-averse, can it be done for less?

Thanks!

I was accepted exactly 11 days after my application was set to "received" in the status checker. I was part of the fast track program though.

kevsauce12345 wrote:Took the September LSAT -- what to people think about preemptively emailing the admissions office requesting a fee waiver vs. waiting to be contacted. I don't really care about paying the application fee if there is any downside to requesting a waiver. I'm more interested in demonstrating interest and hopefully being added to the fast track - if that's still a thing...Thanks.
Just posted this to the fee waiver thread. I asked them in august and they told me to ask again when their app opened and they granted to me no problem. Again, there is absolutely no downside to ask for a fee waiver if you ask politely, they won't mark your application in any way. You'll be surprised, I asked about 12-14 schools right when I started my apps and all of them were granted for me. Saved a ton of money and it allowed me to throw my apps to some far reaches for the hell of it, never know what will happen.

Edit: UF said no to me, but that was before I found they are notorious for denying solicitations
