Woo. Applied 9/4, went complete 9/16. No status checker for us to pin to our favorites bar and break F5 obsessing over.

Checking in! UCLA may be my first choice. LA native and don't see myself leaving my dogs for three years.

Did anyone else get an email requesting a Skype interview for UCLA so far? I have one scheduled for next week but not sure what the purpose is, so not sure what to expect

If your numbers are really high schools may want to waitlist (or deny) you because you are unlikely to attend their school. Helps keep their yield rate low, which is a factor in the US News rankings.

Oh I didn't even think about that. Thanks so much! So the interview would be to see if I actually have interest in UCLA specifically, makes sense nowWinston1984 wrote:YP = Yield Protecthannahp38 wrote:Applied September 22, what is YP?rebexness wrote:When did you apply? Schools understand their used for scholarship negotiation purposes, but it doesn't mean they like it. This is kind of a way to try to avoid that.hannahp38 wrote: Oh I didn't even think about that. I applied on 10/7 and received an acceptance call on 10/9. I couldn't believe it. I applied to a good number of schools, and really didn't know what to expect. I assumed there was a better than even shot I wouldn't get into anything. I really just didn't know. So this was an amazing start to this process, and hopefully a sign of good things to come. Even if it's not a portent, I'm beyond thrilled: UCLA is an awesome school.

Congrats, that's awesome! Did they give you scholarship info with the acceptance? I've gathered from last years thread that that was common then.NimChimpsky wrote:I applied on 10/7 and received an acceptance call on 10/9. I couldn't believe it. No, nothing like that yet. It seemed very early in their process. It was the Dean who called, and he said they didn't have the status website up yet or anything, and it was all still very early. But he did say I would be getting a letter in the mail, so there might be more info there.hereisonehand wrote:Congrats, that's awesome! Did they give you scholarship info with the acceptance?
