repost from fee waivers thread:
sneakyleo wrote:FYI regarding Northwestern, I'm pretty sure the link to request a fee waiver that was thrown out earlier in this thread was this one: https://apply.law.northwestern.edu/regi ... nfeewaiver

That one asks for financial info, why you're requesting a waiver, etc.

However, I recently noticed that on their "Apply" page, there is a purple button saying "JD fee waiver," which I remember seeing mention of in last year's thread, but it wasn't up last time I was on their website. That brings you to this shorter form, with no financial info required: https://apply.law.northwestern.edu/regi ... 4FeeWaiver

I filled out that form and got an email immediately saying they would send a waiver within a day or two. Got it within a few hours. It's good through 11/30.
it doesn't ask for LSAT or GPA or anything

How much effort are you going to put into them xylo? I kinda didn't write too much because my ps already dealt extensively about them

And good luck! Even if u don't really need it with ur stats.

I'm not going to slave over them, but last night I probably would have made a stupid typo or grammar mistake. I just want to make sure they're nicely worded etc.

Hey guys and girls!

Wondering if you had any info on a question I have:

How much would it hurt my application if I decide not to interview?

I am assuming that Skype/On Campus interviews are both with admissions staff and thus may hold "more" weight than an off campus interview?

Debating.
I'm doing Skype. they say it won't weigh differently in the app, but I still think it would be more useful to do it with an adcom. plus a lot of different interviews are on Skype now, so I can use previous interviews as practice for this one and this one as practice for later ones.

Depends on if you are K-JD or not. The interview can show a lot of maturity and focus for a perspective student that is in question for K-JDs. That is one reason they like WE.

I'm going to do the on campus interview only because I live extremely close to the school

Does anyone know, on average, how long it takes NW to give a decision for the ED app?

I'm taking LSAT in Sep, applying ED, and maybe retaking LSAT in Dec if rejected by NW ED. This would all depend on the time it takes for NW's to respond.

Thanks

From LSN, it looks like a lot of people heard back on 12/13 last year.

I might be wrong about this but if you have numbers close to good enough for NW ED (Which means CCN numbers at least- they're not just giving $50,000 per year away) the worst that can happen is that they'll just defer you to regular admission or waitlist you. If you feel a retake is necessary, you can do it in February, and the updated score might get you back into scholly territory.

You'll probably be able to tell once you get your Sept. score what the odds are like for you.
My GPA is above a 3.9 and I'm averaging around a 170. In Sep, If I get between a 168- 171, I'm planning on applying while still studying for December. If below, just retake. If above, consider applying to HYS.
