I'm currently deposited at NYU and I had been mentally committed to that for a while. I'm also on the waitlist at Penn, and the Penn director of admissions called me a week ago to ask about my continued interest. I thought it was worth considering, especially if they were going to offer me money. I asked the director of admissions about their public interest program and she had me contact the dean of the public interest program at Penn, who connected me with a recent grad. I contacted the recent grad and was super into everything she had to say. I'm very interested in Penn now but don't really know how to proceed at this point. (I know this is all very last minute. I'm a very last minute person!) Does anyone have any advice for how to get off the waitlist at Penn? If I contact the director of admissions again and tell her I'm still interested, will she want me to withdraw from NYU before Penn accepts me?
Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

Re: Deposited at NYU; On the Penn waitlist
Unless you want to practice in Philly, I personally would just stick with NYU but if you're really interested in Penn I'd poke around and ask if money is still available for grants and stuff of that nature and ask if they match offers at other schools.thislamp wrote:I'm currently deposited at NYU and I had been mentally committed to that for a while. Also saying you're still interested does not equal commitment. They realize you have to consider finances and stuff before accepting. But schools usually don't accept off the waitlist unless they think they're attending because of YP.
Did they ask you to call them back?
