The envelope was delivered on Saturday, but I didn't receive it until a few days ago. In the top left corner of the envelope, in large blue letters, it says "WELCOME TO UC DAVIS SCHOOL OF LAW". Hooray!
Thanks! I was deferred at Boalt, which is my number one choice, and I'm still waiting to hear from UCLA. But I really like Davis, so I'm pretty much just waiting to see what happens with Boalt... but UCLA is pretty high on my list, so I don't want to make any decisions until I know exactly what my options are. I'm super excited about Davis, though, because I am definitely one of those people who will have a very difficult time leaving the greater Bay Area.
I went complete on November 29, and applied on October 30.

Nice - well congratulations and I'm sure that if you end up attending there you'll be happy. I've heard nothing but good things from recent alum. And even if it is in the boondocks, I'd personally prefer to live there wayyyyyy more than anywhere in the So Cal area.

Congrats! Would you mind sharing you numbers as I'm waiting to hear from them.
Thanks! TLS is such a nice little happy community! It's hard for me to celebrate with friends because I know some people who are also applying to law school, but have yet to hear anything... so TLS is my happy get-away!
My status checker sat at "Evaluation in Progress" for almost two months. The last time I checked before I received the envelope, it was still at "Evaluation in Progress". I went back to look at my status checker after getting the envelope, and it said, "Decision has been mailed" and it had a link to an unofficial copy of the decision letter. Sorry I can't give a more precise time line of when everything changed on my status checker, but I hope this helps everyone!
Also, lishi, I didn't apply to Hastings. I walk by the campus all the time and have sat in on a few classes, and it just didn't feel right. It's really not for me; Davis, on the other hand... great place! The only thing is that they're going to start construction on the law building this summer, I believe, and the remodeling and updating is slated to last for about five years, which means the entire three years there will be spent with the background of chiseling and jackhammering. But the building is really nice, surrounded by big grassy fields, and Davis really is a great little town.
Got my envelope today. I have known since Friday because of the status checker but was surprised to see it and thought it was acceptance to another school because the address on the status check letter had my permanent address.
