For those on waitlist, an encouraging message

Post by SesameStreetWise » Sat Jun 21, 2014 6:19 pm

As I am on four wait lists, I know the pain of reading this blog or LSN and seeing someone that I've seen wished congratulations after having been accepted from the waitlist. And, yes, I, too hope that there was a mistake, and they mysteriously lost their acceptance. Then the spot goes to ME! Or, ya know, a hope that no one gets in ever so the only WL-accepted person on LSN is me!
I think The List of the Lost has turned me into a Desmond.
You, fellow waitlister, are not alone.

I'm more committed to my most likely future school...and if other people are getting off the lists, at least someone is having a good day out there.

I completely agree. While I still hope to be admitted from Cornell's waitlist, I'm beginning to lose hope and I've accepted that life at a T20 w/ scholarship won't be so bad. And who knows, maybe I'll kill it as a 1L and transfer to HYS. At least then I could justify sticker.

Curry is arguably the best shooter in the NBA, but I wish we still had Mark Jackson...

Agreed. I'm realizing that I will most likely be happier at the school where I was accepted, and received significant scholarship money at.

Even if I get off the WL, I will likely be paying sticker, or near sticker. I'm not sure going to a T-14 is worth that financial burden.

Imagine this: the Titanic is the wait list. Now, if people aren't posting on this forum and are not getting off the wait list, then you have a better chance at snagging one of those life-rafts and floating to safety!

Both of yall are lucky in that respect. You are both content with the school you deposited in. I know I'm not alone in saying that, even though its T14, I'm really unsure if I want to attend that school. My heart has been set on one place for three years, and I've gone through hell and back through this wait list process...I WANT THE SUFFERING TO END...but I'm still going to be on the wait list until the bitter end. It's like an itch you can't quite scratch that gets itchier over time, if that analogy is coherent.
