W&M Waitlist c/o 2017 Forum

I thought I'd start this just to see who is riding the waitlist, and who intends to withdraw.

I'll be riding it out until 2nd deposit is due at my current choice.

I don't know what exactly will be on the update, but I had a conversation with Dean Cavallari by email yesterday. She said that "if spaces exist in the class and if you are being considered, I will be in direct contact."

I don't know if this is an accurate indication of the current class, but the FB group for accepted students only has around 90 kids. The class I heard was supposed to be around 180.

My guess is either "we received enough deposits so we won't be utilizing the WL at this time" or "we will review WL applicants for the limited remaining spots."

There are currently 110 members on the c/o 2017 page. That's based on deposits. Gotta be at least 50 people that haven't joined the group and the undecided still have a week to confirm their seats. Also where did you hear 180? The last few years had around 200 students.

180 is correct. Their typical class size is around 190 but last year they goofed (messed up their yields for both admission and aid) and went with 220. They are going to scale back.

yes, perhaps i'm jumping the gun, and it says it will be bi-monthly as well.

other than that, its basic WL info that every school provides, along with a form to withdraw from the WL.

I haven't seen any updates. The Facebook page is up to 164 members. Someone above mentioned the class size is supposed to be 180 this year but the website still says 200. It looks like we're gonna be SOL if the former or hopeful if the latter. We'll find out soon enough.

Hey guys, I'm not on the W&M waitlist but I'm on several others. With regards to the Facebook incoming class groups, I wouldn't rely on them too much because although they give a good indication of what the class size will look like, several people from different classes (like 2L'S) join the group as well. Just wanted to let you guys know if you didn't already. Good luck!

Truth. There are also several people in each group who were admitted but aren't going to attend and have already committed elsewhere.
