Campbell c/o 2017 applicants (2013/2014)
This thread hadn't made its way in yet so I figured I'd create it...
Applied to Campbell through their non-binding early admit cycle and got accepted through status checker and email. Still waiting on the packet in the mail that will include scholly info! Who else has applied/ is applying to Campbell and what are your thoughts on the school?
I really liked it when I toured it-- I'm a fan of the small private school feel. It's also comforting to see that it went from tier 4 to tier 3 as of the new US News Rankings. Not sure I'll go though, my stats are above the 75th so it would take a big scholarship offer to sway me from a higher ranked school.

I applied here with a similar mindset and I've been accepted to higher ranked schools.
So, this is me checking in. Complete 12/5

Good luck! I ended up being offered quite a hefty scholarship-- 27.5k a year with an 82.00 average stipulation... I haven't heard back from any other schools yet but that may be just enough to sway me from schools with better rankings.

Checking in... application complete on the 10th.
LSHopeful, what was the turn-around time on your app/award package?

I was accepted via status checker and email (email contained scholarship info) exactly one week after my application went under review. My snail mail acceptance packet came at some point while I was out of town for 2 weeks, so I'm not sure how long that took after getting the email.Oxcart wrote:Checking in... application complete on the 10th.

Does anyone know anything about the supposedly "extreme" curve Campbell uses? The TLS profile talks about it briefly, but only to say that it causes a large number of students to lose their scholarships, I believe.

I was accepted via email today!
About the curve - I have not heard this specifically about Campbell, but about many Tier 3/4 schools that they offer grandiose scholarships to 1Ls to persuade them to choose the school over a higher ranked one and then make them loose the scholarship by means of curve to save the school money while pinning the student in the school unless they trasnfer (which - if they lost $ to the curve, probs can't transfer). Again, I have not heard this about Campbell but about Tier3/4 in general so I cannot speak to Campbell.

Thanks for the response, I was just curious since it was the only Tier 3/4 school that I looked at on here that the profile mentioned something about the curve.

Congrats! Do you think you will be accepting the offer? I haven't yet declined my acceptance but I was offered a larger scholarship to a T2 school, so I'm thinking I'm not going to be a fighting camel in the fall.garrettnicole92 wrote:In today via email with a $27k scholarship.

I'm leaning towards not, but I haven't declined yet. I have better offers from similarly ranked schools and a few pretty decent offers from some T2 schools as well that I need to consider.LShopeful628 wrote:Congrats! What kind of turn-around times are you all seeing? (From complete to decision). Thanks! Also, without being too specific, where are your numbers falling?

Submitted my application on November 15 (early decision app), was accepted Dec 6 (exactly 1 week after going "under review"). Submitted my seat decline form this afternoon, not sure why I'm kind of sad to do so since I've gotten better offers from better schools. Probably because it's so close to where I grew up, would have liked to get back to NC.Oxcart wrote:What kind of turn-around times are you all seeing? (From complete to decision). Thanks! Oh, and my stats are 161/3.5, was offered $27.5k a year from Campbell.
