Marquette Class of 2017
I didn't see one for Marquette so I thought I'd get it started!
Applied Nov 15 and got accepted Nov 27th via phone call.
Also applied ED to UW so hoping to hear back from them soon...
Thoughts on Marquette if you're okay staying in Wisconsin?
Any idea what numbers you need to get a decent scholarship? I'm slightly above median GPA and at 75th for LSAT

Re: Marquette Class of 2017
I have three family members who went to law school here and they have done well for them selves staying in Wisconsin. Though the last one graduated about 5 years ago so ymmv.
I just got an email from them saying they will make scholarship decisions in February.

Hey guys, I applied 11/20 and received my acceptance e-mail on 12/6. How were you guys notified about your decision? I have never been in Milwaukee, but Marquette is one of my top choices.

Hang in there! I doubt I'll be attending, unless they offer $$$. I have already received very appealing offers from my other top choices.

Congrats! Based off previous cycles, they have been pretty stingy with $$$.odonnlld5 wrote:Accepted via phone call and snail mail in late November. Can't wait to get some scholarship info!

Anyone apply for the part-time program? I'm planning to send in my application in early January (didn't take the LSAT until December).

Congrats! Mine was 15K dispersed to three years. I am going to retake though. Too much of a risk.

Re: Marquette Class of 2017
I'm from Madison and have a sister that currently lives in Milwaukee and attends another school at Marquette. Milwaukee can be really fun, but there's certainly a mix of good and bad areas. I visited the school itself and it's absolutely beautiful--it made me begin to seriously consider attending the school. In terms of cost of living, Milwaukee is very low, so you'd save some money in that way as well. Overall, the school has an awesome relationship with Milwaukee law firms, and people in Wisconsin look at Marquette almosttt as favorably as UW Madison (but certainly UW Madison has the better reputation). If you're willing to work in Wisconsin, Marquette would be a great choice, because there are only two law schools in Wisco.
Hope that helped

Accepted with a $30K scholarship. NIU gave me full ride, so I'm choosing between these two.

Re: Marquette Class of 2017
Figured I'd chime in quick with the city life for anyone considering Marquette. The university is in a terrible area, but you can get away from that by living on the east side or downtown, I highly recommend the east side which is a great little niche of hipsters and great bars/restaurants with low low rent. The people talking about Marquette being comparable to UW Madison in Milwaukee are dead on, half (or more) of the partners in the higher end firms are marquette grads and they take care of their own. Outside of Milwaukee you are going to struggle though. The new law school building is gorgeous and has a fireplace (which is a huge benefit in the winter). If you're worried about the winter, don't be, just drink more beer...it's what were famous for.

Accepted via email and letter. Waiting on $$$ info. Looking to fly out on 3/29 for ASD to see the place. I've never even been to Wisconsion, or really the Midwest in general.

I'm planning to go to the ASD on 3/29, but I was surprised to see that it only runs from 10-2:30. I'm in the area so it's no big deal, but for people who are flying in it sure seems like a short day. Am I missing something? (e.g. are there other activities after the 2:30 end time?)
