Anyone heard back yet from the GWU early decision? I put in for it, but I am in the lower tier of GWU applicants. (3.3/165/combat veteran soft factor). Hoping my extra interest will get me accepted in regular decision.
so the question is: if they don't take me in the binding early (which is guaranteed an answer by Jan 15) do they still guarantee an answer on regular decision by Jan 15 or is that at their leisure?

I haven't heard from them either but I think all the decisions are mailed at once. Also, if deferred, it will be 4 to 8 weeks before your regular decision letter. Got that from their office. I emailed them the same question before

Another acceptance got posted today on LSN, bringing the total up to five. Is anybody here one of those five or maybe accepted but not on LSN?

For what it's worth, I didn't go early decision at George Washington and I got an acceptance email on December 28th. I never got a "your application has been received" or a "your application is complete" email. So I don't know....just thought I would give some insight.
Numbers:
164/3.9

GW doesn't do "complete" emails. Instead they send little blue postcards by snail mail.

I applied Early Decision to George Washington and did not get their presidential scholarship but did receive an offer for regular admission. So I'm not sure if they'll let you know your decision too. If it helps, I applied on December 11 and heard back on December 20.

Do you mind sharing your stats, hokiefan? I applied early decision also and haven't heard anything (except for the little blue "complete" postcard).

How the heck does a 174/3.5 not get the scholarship to GW?

Cause there are tons of them. Something else has to make you stand out. BTW, GO SEC!!!!! The only real conference in the NCAA!

I'm sort of wondering why GW wouldn't take the 174/3.5 as well - it seems to me that the whole program is based on the desire to attract that student. Maybe they want both numbers above the 75th? Shoot, I don't know. They have to know he isn't going there without a full ride, right? He'll probably get into Columbia or NYU at the least...

I don't know....I believe in numbers, but not solely. Some people are just the stereotypically boring bookworms....I think those people aren't as appealing. Not that I know anything about the particular applicant posting above....but I could see where choosing giving money to bookworms or really interesting people could leave some very qualified people without scholarship money. Nothing is certain in this world. Ever.

Yeah, but 99% of the time school's believe in numbers. Unless we're talking URM.

So far I've been accepted to William and Mary with pretty much a full scholarship, Washington University and George Washington. I only began applying in the middle of December so I hope to hear back fairly soon from other schools.
