I was initially shocked that Cooley doesn't accept everyone that applies. That was until I read this. "I took the LSATS three times in the past year attempting to get a better score." Maybe (s)he's just a bad test taker...

Wouldn't she statistically score better if she just answered "C" for every question?

On the October LSAT, a 142 was 42 correct out of 100. Assuming that the answers were evenly distributed amongst A-E, answering C every time would have resulted in a 126. I'm not really certain a 126 is that much worse than a 142, though.

Ouch. Hate to say it, but it's probably for the best that first girl didn't get in anywhere. The second one is gonna have a rough time with that OOS debt and 20% employment.

I don't want to be mean to people who aren't good at these tests, but they got less than half of the questions right and were in ~16th %ile. Can you really think that they should be lawyers given that? The ABA shouldn't be allowing these schools who are taking so many students who can't even answer half the LSAT correctly. Who you wanna be operated on by a doctor who couldn't even hit 20 on the MCAT? Maybe if it was because s/he straight up could barely speak English (but had a good translator!)

As to the original question, I asked the same thing, and apparently people do get money from the waitlist if the numbers and negotiating is good. I was shown a girl who got 105k off the waitlist from UChicago
