Accepted 11/15 with a $25,000 scholarship. I visited the school and loved it. It's definitely a high consideration. Good luck!

How long after you applied did it take them to send a confirmation email/status checker?meepmeep17 wrote:Accepted 11/15 with a $25,000 scholarship. I visited the school and loved it. It's definitely a high consideration. Good luck!

I sent in my application on 12/4, went complete/received confirmation on 12/6, and received an acceptance email on 12/13 stating there would be an addmission packet with more details to follow this week.

Re: Albany Law School c/o2016
I sent my app in Nov 1 I believe, and then was notified via phone call on the 15th of Nov. BUT I think it only happened that fast because I went to visit the school and asked the admission people in their office "If it really takes 8-10 weeks". The woman said to hold on, and that I would know by the next day. I don't think that was typical, but the next morning I got an amazing phone call!meyersa15 wrote:sergiokun16 wrote:How long after you applied did it take them to send a confirmation email/status checker?meepmeep17 wrote:Accepted 11/15 with a $25,000 scholarship. I've received 5 updates saying "Under Review." Anyone else experience this? I'm 158/3.7, so I don't think that I'm in any danger of waitlist or anything like that. Just wondering what the deal is.

Accepted with full scholarship (42,400) with the stipulation that I place at least at the 50th percentile.
I'm really happy they decided to give me full tuition, but now my choice just became harder...

They just increased my scholarship from 25K in November to 32K now.... Hmmmm I haven't contacted them, so I wonder if this means applications are down? Either way I am really happy with the increase and it is now way back into the running. I visited the campus in November if anyone has questions!

Also received a random(?) scholly increase from 35,000/yr. to $38,500, also with the stipulation that I stay within the top 50%. Congrats on the full ride, that's awesome! Mind telling what your numbers are?

Re: Albany Law School c/o2016
Ah, good edit. I am of course assuming that I will put in the work to place in the requisite percentile range, and that when I do, the school will continue to give me the scholarship.
I am leaning towards Albany because of its proximity to my state's capital. I would like to go into either crafting or advocating policy, and this seems a perfectly good place to start. I am of course welcome to anyone providing evidence that shatters this impression. I also have yet to visit the school, so I do not know what the campus or the surrounding city is like.
I do not have any ambitions to secure a position in a big law firm per say. I would rather work as a policy analyst or in government.

Quick question to everyone accepted, when you checked your status checker did it say decision rendered? Because thats what mine says but theres no seat deposit amount so im wondering if this means Im not accepted.

Mine said decision rendered, and shortly after I received a congratulations email. Mine doesn't have a seat deposit either.
Hope you hear good news!

"File is before admissions commitee" What should I expect from here out? It has been this status for a few days. Sent in my app a week ago.

That is just their way of saying "In review." They seem to have pretty quick turnaround on decisions, so I would say you're probably looking at about a month to wait.LionelHutzJD wrote:"File is before admissions commitee" What should I expect from here out? File just changedt to decision rendered. I see a checklist item for Immunization that is already checked off. Is this a sign of good things to come?
