Re: University of Richmond c/o 2016
Just received my phone call from the dean - Thank you Caller ID for the heads up; I knew no one else would be calling from VA .
For those wondering I was under review for approx 1-2 weeks.
Feel free to PM if interested in #'s.
(Phone call admissions are definitely better than emails, the personal touch is nice).
---
*edit*
No word of scholarships over the phone, but from what I've heard through this forum, people who scored 1 point higher than me on the LSAT were getting 20k+, even with far worse GPA's than me...

Checking in.
Applied = 1/9
Offer = 1/27
International applicant. No info on Scholarship yet. Haven't received any other communication from the school other than the call from Dean Rahman.
Was just wondering if that is normal? Also how long before you guys received the admission package via snail mail?
Finally did you guys got back to Dean Rahman after the initial offer. Just trying to figure out if this is normal or whether I need to get in touch with anyone regarding the offer and scholarship.

Just got my phone call last night! Very nice personal touch. Was offered 30K. Is that yearly or total? Haven't gotten anything in mail yet.

With your numbers it's probably yearly, but you should get an email soon confirming thatironbmike wrote:Just got my phone call last night! Very nice personal touch. Was offered 30K. Is that yearly or total? Haven't gotten anything in mail yet.

Re: University of Richmond c/o 2016
Just checking in. I went complete mid-November, but then I submitted another LOR mid-December and still haven't heard back yet. I'm right at the 25% for both LSAT and GPA, URM. I emailed them just double checking to make sure they had everything and they emailed back and said
"The only piece that is missing is a Dean’s Certification. If you have not already requested a Dean’s Certification form be completed, please do so at your earliest convenience. Decisions can be made pending receipt of the Dean’s Certification forms."
I didn't have any character/fitness issues and it appears that people are hearing back regardless of whether they've submitted the form or not, so it's a little frustrating. My school mailed out the form about a week ago, so they should have it by now. Richmond is my top choice. I'm getting restless!!!

I just sent an email checking on my application status to make sure I don't need to turn anything else in.

Do you think they could be sitting on you, waiting to see how the numbers work out, because you are a splitter?

I know that's what they're doing. Because that's what every law school is pretty much doing to me...it sucksdirtrida2 wrote:

Has anyone that was offered money during their acceptance call not received an email/letter? I was accepted in November and told $20,000 yet haven't heard anything since then, just wondering if anyone else was in this boat

For those waiting for calls, just call the Dean. I called her office to talk about money and she got back to me within an hour

Re: University of Richmond c/o 2016
I wasn't given a dollar amount, but she and I had kept in touch since meeting at a forum and she remembered that minimizing indebtedness is a big factor for me and that she'd be in touch in January and hopefully have some good news regarding money. I haven't heard since, but I really think they just don't do things in huge waves, so I'd be surprised if it means that those who haven't received offers yet won't end up with anything. I wouldn't worry about it (or pester her (yet, at least, hah)), but if it starts getting to late February I'll probably check in.bburn008 wrote:Has anyone that was offered money during their acceptance call not received an email/letter? Good for me. She told me that they have sent out their initial offers which are for merit scholarships (people with high numbers). She said everything else would come in April (after the enrollment deadline) once they knew who was taking the initial scholarship offers.dirtrida2 wrote:And how did they conversation go?Carter N wrote:For those waiting for calls, just call the Dean. I'm quitting being a lurker to comment on this.. I've gotten at least one piece of mail a week from Richmond since I took the LSAT and even more since I applied. And still no decision. And it makes me sad.ValerOn1820 wrote:just got the letter from a student organization.

I wonder why are they doing it before decision? rather "strange" tacticsleilz wrote:I'm quitting being a lurker to comment on this..
