Did not receive a specific response, but did just get the "hang in there, we're going to get back to you soon" email. Decisions, decisions! All of which is outside my hands!!!!blueruditio wrote:Same here.syd625 wrote:I sent in a LOCI and never received a confirmation/response. Is that normal? Or should I be concerned?

Thanks for the responses! Good to know that they probably did actually receive it then.

Ooo, an update! Exciting!
God, I would love a phone call.. but! I have yet to submit a LOCI (and I didn't write a "Why UVA" essay). Also applied very late. Afraid my chances are therefore nil.. I keep wanting to sent in a LOCI, I just really don't know what to write. X\

I've received confirmations on the two LOCIs I have sent, but I sent them both to the general UVA admissions email, not Dean Richard's. Those have been in tandem to my responses to the update emails sent by Richard herself.

Hopefully splitters.. Doesn't seem like people with low GPAs are getting much love from the T14 these days.bincognito wrote:Guesses about the kind of applicants they'll pick up this week?

The first couple people off the waitlist were reverse splitters--I for one hope that pattern continues!

I'm really quite shocked that reverse splitters are doing so well. You'd think the low amount of LSAT takers this year would mean that solid LSAT scores are in higher demand. *sigh*Rory19 wrote:The first couple people off the waitlist were reverse splitters--I for one hope that pattern continues!

Maybe they decided to let their LSAT median drop. Or they already secured it with EDers.TheMostDangerousLG wrote:I'm really quite shocked that reverse splitters are doing so well. Word on the street is that schools are starting to put more weight than they have in the past on GPA. I had a WAY better cycle than I thought I would, that's the only reason I can think of why.TheMostDangerousLG wrote:I'm really quite shocked that reverse splitters are doing so well. The most credible ones are a few law deans that my uncle knows (he's in big law in atl). Duke, UGA, Emory are a couple he mentioned!bananasplit19 wrote:Source? Personal anectodal evidence, I can confirm this theory. Why else would Duke give me money when I'm not even in the 25th percentile for the LSAT?

And I also know a few who got into Chicago 165 3.9, not all of them were ED either.bruin91 wrote:Personal anectodal evidence, I can confirm this theory. Why else would Duke give me money when I'm not even in the 25th percentile for the LSAT?

From what I have seen in the Emory thread, there has been a lot of favor to high GPAs by that school this cycle.Mack12 wrote:The most credible ones are a few law deans that my uncle knows (he's in big law in atl). Seriously, I can't believe I'm still festering on the Emory "priority waitlist" with my LSAT (I tell myself it's a YP thing..).JXander wrote:From what I have seen in the Emory thread, there has been a lot of favor to high GPAs by that school this cycle.Mack12 wrote:The most credible ones are a few law deans that my uncle knows (he's in big law in atl). Re: Waitlisted at UVA c/o 2016
Seems like the MO now is to e-mail the applicant, asking for him/her to call the admissions office. So I'm keeping a closer eye on my inbox, rather than my cell. But who knows. Either way, I'm not stressing out till Thursday morning; got to give them time to sort through the deposit deadline.Dmini7 wrote:Anyone receive that phone call yet?
...but when Thursday morning hits...boy, I'm going to be skittish as a turkey in late November.
