And all this because my lsstatuscheckapp runs a check every hour. I kinda like that app because unlike what that guy/girl said it takes away the obsessive checking. It just auto checks it and emails/texts me when there are changes with my appsalwayssunnyinfl wrote:He was obviously being fatalistic. They're not, and my comment was just as fatalistic. Must've been the "brah" that pissed him off.alwayssunnyinfl wrote:He was obviously being fatalistic. But I'd like to apologize if I annoyed anyone here. It wasn't my intention.

But seriously, let's keep it positive when it comes to the topic of admissions/scholarships. Everything else is fair game (halo effect guy).

It's not even about keeping it positive, either. Jay sought our advice here and got some hard answers. At the same time, it is definitely NOT outside the realm of possibility that he'll end up in St. Louis in the fall because it sounds like he has an interesting back story and he does bring diversity to the table, which WUSTL demonstrably likes. Plus, once you get below their 25th percentile, it doesn't really matter to their stats how far below you are. If someone is that willing to bare themselves to a group of internet strangers, his chances at admission aren't really in play for jokes.danielr wrote:But seriously, let's keep it positive when it comes to the topic of admissions/scholarships. I'll be the first to admit that my chances to get accepted at some schools are not high or even low. That said, I kind of think that my W&L acceptence and even my Fordham WL (since they get SO MANY APPS) speak volume at what I bring in to the table. But, Im also realistic about my chances overall since I know it's a lot about the hardcore numbers.
I have no idea why he/she lashed on me though.
EDIT: and about my chances at WashU, we'll see.

The wake forest thread is debating about bringing parents to ASD. I just opened their eyes to the halo effect

Does the NALP keep employment numbers of people who bring their parents vs people who don't? This is the kind of transparency I was from law schools.

Anyone knows if WashU gives need based aid at all? So far I see a wide range of schools that do and don't

I'm not sure to be honest. It seems like need-based aid is just a euphemism for Federal Loans at most schools. I don't think law schools give out need-based aid in the form of grants. FWIW I've never heard of any law student receiving need-based grants at any schoolJayJones78 wrote:Anyone knows if WashU gives need based aid at all?
