Re: American University Class of 2016
I think you can actually make the account with the email, I thought you needed to wait for the letter but I found my AU ID at the top of my email. I created an account though and still no info, so I'm gonna assume it's in the letter. Hopefully. Not that they're giving out much financial aid.rshw89 wrote:I don't. Mine had nothing it either. If you click the link for the admitted students page it says something on there about creating an online account to view awards, but you need a number from your official acceptance letter to create the account.cbarlow1016 wrote:Congrats--Do you know if financial aid info is gonna come in the mail? au is in the email...that's all you need. There was a delay in me getting my letter...so they forwarded me an email copy, and then also resent the actual letter. all you need is id to create account congrats to new admits

Congrats to all new admits.
By the way, IMHO no need to set up a my AU email. It doesn't she any financial aid info or does any good.

Should we expect more than 3 "application complete" status updates?

Got my second complete today and not too long afterwards, I got the acceptance email. Congrats to everyone else admitted today!
Did anyone receive any financial aid info with their acceptance? Is it hidden somewhere in the myAU portal? (Been looking around but can't find anything.)

Applied mid December. Went complete 1/2 and review 1/11. People with worst #s than me have been admitted already. Even those who applied later. Whatever....they are probably doing me a favor overlooking my app because I really want to leave DC. Good luck to those still waiting, I'm withdrawing.

lol i've been complete since 12/7. Will not be attending and should probably just withdraw but its been soo long i sort of want to just wait it out for a decision before I do. Not any rhyme or reason to their decision timetable so far as i can tell.mac35352 wrote:Applied late December. Went complete 1/2 and review 1/11. Just saw this thread. To the poster 2 above. American sits on people with numbers that are higher than their medians because they don't think they will actually attend. Classic yield protection (of which American is particularly fond) to drive up their ranking. So I wouldn't - and don't realize how people get emo about it- be offended they havent rendered a decision on your file.

They are random. I don't need the extra stress. I'm already waiting for 10 schools to reply. The waiting made me realize I don't want to attend American. My friend with below 25 #s and weaker softs heard in 2 weeks.feralinfant wrote:lol i've been complete since 12/7. I would encourage you to withdraw for wholly separate reasons but being butthurt because admissions offended you isn't one of them.mac35352 wrote:They are random. I don't need the extra stress. True. I don't want to be in DC anymore. That's the real reason. But I also don't want to worry about another application without the intend to attend. I'm not offended, just over thinking everything.stillwater wrote:I would encourage you to withdraw for wholly separate reasons but being butthurt because admissions offended you isn't one of them.mac35352 wrote:They are random. I was accepted last week via e-mail and just received my acceptance letter via snail mail today... no financial aid/scholarship info. It basically just said the same thing that was sent in the e-mail.enidwexler wrote:Got my second complete today and not too long afterwards, I got the acceptance email. Ughh. There's no way I can go to AU without financial aid.njpark wrote:I was accepted last week via e-mail and just received my acceptance letter via snail mail today... no financial aid/scholarship info. People with better numbers then you were only receiving a one time 20k scholarship...cbarlow1016 wrote:Ughh. Yes "one-time" - not annually.

I think I'm ready to withdraw. No decision since I sent my app in on 9/25! YP if I have ever seen it.stillwater wrote:Just saw this thread. To the poster 2 above. And silly, too. Don't let me put words in your mouth, but wouldn't you think that this strategy eliminates any bit of interest you may have once had in American?gitguy wrote:I think I'm ready to withdraw. Re: American University Class of 2016
Absolutely. My first application was to American. I had visited the school during my time in DC, and if you look back, I started this thread. If they want to move up the rankings I feel like they need to give serious consideration to people who are a bit above their normal ranges, and throw a little money out there. Only makes sense, right? I just don't understand how blowing off qualified applicants is a winning strategy.nba101790 wrote:And silly, too. Where the money at? High 160 applicants getting a one time scholarship of 20k?
I really hope their plan backfires; pathetic.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
