Temple University c/o 2016 Applicants
Didn't see a thread, so I'm starting one. Applied 10/31. Went Complete 11/2. Best of luck to everyone.

Re: Temple University c/o 2016 Applicants
I was waiting for this to pop up. Go Owls!
Applied 10/11. Complete 10/12. Excited to hear back. Possibly considering a JD/MBA from Temple as a cheaper alternative to a top JD. Also, I went to Temple undergrad, so if you have any questions (especially all of you wondering about North Philly) let me know.

I applied 11/3 but haven't heard anything from them (I've applied to many schools since and have heard from them all), is this normal? Should I contact the admissions office eventually? LSAC has reported everything complete and sent.

Checking in! Retaking in December. I've lived in Philly my whole life (except for college) so if anyone has any questons about the area feel free to ask!

Are you all from Philly area considering local schools or from other areas as well? I received an email from them about 3 days after I sent my application, but I was a bit on the early side so maybe the timetable shifts a bit now that it's busy season.

Judging by their website, the last stage in the status checker process before a decision is made is the Complete stage. It says that in this stage files are reviewed, so I don't think we will see an Under Review update as we see from other schools, but I could be wrong. Hopefully they send out some decisions soon so we hear about some movement from them.

I'm from southern NJ. Applying to other local schools (Villanova and Rutgers Camden) but also schools further away from home too.moneyball026 wrote:Are you all from Philly area considering local schools or from other areas as well? I'm not, if I got a fee waiver from Penn (unlikely) I'd send an application over there and I just have no interest in Villanova, Drexel, or Rutgers.moneyball026 wrote:Are you all from Philly area considering local schools or from other areas as well? I am applying to Penn and Temple, but those are the only local schools I'm looking at. Rest are across the country, but mostly looking at northeast.Psib337 wrote:I'm not, if I got a fee waiver from Penn (unlikely) I'd send an application over there and I just have no interest in Villanova, Drexel, or Rutgers.moneyball026 wrote:Are you all from Philly area considering local schools or from other areas as well? I'm from relatively nearby Philly (Lancaster), and am applying to Temple, Pitt, and Drexel as far as PA goes.

Count me in.
Sent 11/09. I haven't gotten a confirmation yet and it seems like everyone else had a quick turn around time. Should I follow up with the school?

sanjola: do you mean temple did not send you an email with a username and password for the status checker?

Temple received my report from the LSAC 11/28, still no email saying they've processed my app. Is this unusual or did it take a little longer for other people too? Drexel and Villanova got back to me the day I submitted.

Re: Temple University c/o 2016 Applicants
I've been complete since 10-3. No change since then.
Also, I'm from Illinois, but drove around Philly last week while seeing family. I need some advice from locals. I literally just drove by, but I'm used to being able to bike to class and have a lot to do right on campus. Is this an option at temple, or do most law students live in another part of Philly and commute to class? It seemed like decent housing was going to be scarce.
The program is good for me, but I'd have to live there too. Maybe such a metro campus isn't for me...

Hello there. As a temple grad also applying to Beasley I can provide some insight.a2blifeUIUC wrote:I've been complete since 10-3. No change since then.

Do not get off campus housing. It is not too dangerous around there but the housing won't cut it for anyone over 21 who is used to living relatively nicely. You're gonna want to find a place in northern liberties or center city, both of which are very young and bikeable. I live in center city now and bike to temple to see friends very often. The city is great for biking with lanes stretching all the way to temple. And it's only a 10 min ride. Check out the piazza at schmidts on google maps. Very young safe and close to temple, a good option. Hope this helps!
