Congratulations! You give me hope. Although, looking at LSN, 162 seems to be the magic number.andlifegoeson wrote:Accepted: 3.1/162

Got my letter that I am not a finalist for Faculty Scholars yesterday. Did anyone else get the two-year accelerated track offer email? Let the law school shake-up begin!

yeah, but there are 2 summer sessions. That means it's essentially the same number of semesters as the 3 year program but without the opportunity for summer internships. Not sure that's a good trade.gitguy wrote:Got my letter that I am not a finalist for Faculty Scholars yesterday. Did anyone else get the two-year accelerated track offer email? I think everyone got the email about the two-year accelerated track offer. My guess is they will be encouraging that so they can increase enrollment numbersgitguy wrote:Got my letter that I am not a finalist for Faculty Scholars yesterday. This would be hilarious if it weren't so stressful and annoying.
My "in review" status has been updated again. I went complete on 11/30. The date updated in January, but the status changed to "in review" on 1/10, with the advisory that a decision typically took eight weeks. Today, my status date updated again. It's still "in review" but the date has changed to 2/14, with the notation that the typical time frame for a decision is two weeks.
Yeah, sure it is.

Be thankful for what you have... I was complete around the same time (if not earlier) and I am STILL in review as on 1/10 (with the ~8 weeks notification).... UGH I can't stand it.
..Its making me want to just send my deposit for Loyola in lol

Maybe they're just trying to keep you updated? Look at it this way: it's been about 5 weeks since you went into review, so two weeks from yesterday is about 7 weeks since you first went into review, which is still within their initial 8 weeks timeframe. Stay positive
In other matters, did anyone else who's already in and getting a 20k (or other) scholarship get an e-mail yesterday/today about a scholarship increase? Mine went up from 20k to 26k (same stip) and I kinda went O_O when I saw it. Wish this was in writing (because I'm paranoid) but if this is for reals (which I'm assuming it is...), I think Pepperdine is back in the running for me...

In with $$$. Was one of my mid choices but is now a consideration since USC is taking forever and apparently going to Notre Dame at sticker is crazy. Anyone know of the employment prospects for here vs. Loyola for mid-firms.

In as of today via status checker...
This is, quite frankly, a surprise..... under/at both medians, and I wrote a 1 paragraph response with the application (I actually didn't look at this forum for what others did, and if I had, it would have been much longer). Was expecting a ding due to a short response.

Supposedly LMU places better in large or mid-size firms, but I think the differences are so minor that really it should come down to cost and scholly stipulations.ManoftheHour wrote:In with $$$. I'm probably leaning towards downtown anyways...

Not all scholly's come with top 50% stip, but I will say you will face a reduction in the amount you get if you do not get the stip. I.e: I recieved 78k but no stip, while someone with nearly identical numbers as me received the 96k scholarship.CO2016YEAH wrote:Ah. Thanks. Accepted awhile back with $20K per year. Leaning toward Pepp, but visiting Cardozo and BLS for good measure. Brooklyn offered me $33K per year with just a top 80% stip. Is there anyway pepp would negotiate with this? Even if just dropping stip percentage? Or is BLS too far down the ladder?

Re: Pepperdine c/o 2016
You can try to use it as leverage. But my understanding is that Pepp really only sees the other similar (and better) LA schools regarding negotiations. So if you have LMU, try to leverage that. Overall, what works with them usually is just saying how much you want to be a part of that culture, but the affordability is what is holding you back from being able to attend Pepperdine, especially considering CoL.JP16 wrote:Accepted awhile back with $20K per year.
