I remembered earlier today that Emory was the weird school that asked for 2 page PS's and 1 page resumes. And then I remembered that this was the hardest application to complete. Anyone else struggle with this?

Yep. And they stressed that going over would be a bad idea. Plus, I'm long winded as well get out.

Try cramming 8 years of work to go along with a bachelors and masters degree. I don't remember exactly but I may have kept it two pages.

I had a similar problem, two degrees, other education, 10 years of experience. somehow it worked, although on two pages it's better I think...

It was tempting to do bullet points. The resume was much harder though, I think. It's impossible to give brief explanations when you've held a significant number of jobs.

Will depend on WUSTL/NU scholly and on UVA decision. But Emory is basically #2 after WUSTL. It will come down to scholarship

Applied in 12/5, admission letter with 81k received on 3/5.

Very happy but slightly dissapointed, UMN and W&L are still killin it in terms of money. Goodluck to everyone still waiting.

I wish we could delegate our offers to other people whom we know want it more. Or maybe trade admissions offers with each other. That... would be a riot.

I would love to hear your thinking here too Cuse if you don't mind PMing me as well. I'm trying to figure out exactly how much I am ok with paying for law school and I would love to hear someone else's thought process.

I remember the Emory dean posting in this thread saying Emory would help with hotels and travel stuff for us to visit (maybe just on ASD [April 13th???]). But I can't find that anywhere on the site. Has anyone emailed or contacted the admissions office about this?

Update: In review, no LOCI needed

While I see the upside to that, I also like not having to frantically refresh a status checker; it seems to make the whole process go slower. Emory's "sit back, relax, we'll contact you when we're done with our process" at least allows me to focus better on other things. Hoping a preemptive LOCI jumped me from a borderline WL to an outright acceptance.

Actually, the only two schools I'm really waiting on--Emory and UCLA--don't have a status check, so I'm starting to relax a bit more at this point.

Who did you address it to?

My problem is that, if you have a reasonable amount of self control, you can control how much you check your status. When its like this, you have no control and you have to resist the temptation to call them. (i.e. "Shit! I wonder if it got lost in the mail?! Maybe I should make up an excuse and call to find out!) Also, if there is a mail related problem, you won't know unless you call.

I see where you're coming from and I see both sides. I've called and they're friendly on the phone; there's less of a stigma about inquiring than there is at schools who constantly update online.

I believe I sent it to the general Admissions email, asking for it to be forwarded to the Admissions Committee as appropriate.

Are you sure? I might be wrong but I think I've seen at least a few people with your numbers getting the base $54k offer.
