When I got mine I was thinking, " Rejection letters aren't this big!"Scootz wrote:Its a big envelope.
But now that you know that, every time you open your mailbox and there isn't a big envelope, you are going to go through your mail hoping none of them says Loyola. At least that was what my experience was.

In the same boat. I could use Pepperdine and USD as leverage at this point (60k at each of those), but they're both lower ranked, so a nice chunk from Hastings or an acceptance to USC would be great. But again, don't think that's going to happen before April 15.mcs268 wrote:I would like to know when they stop negotiating as well. I'm hoping so because I'm still waiting on aid decisions from other schools, but I'm not sure if that will come in time before april 15th..

USD and LLS are now tied at 68. Pepp is now 61. USD had more 2011 grads employed. I'd be cautious with throwing around rank and even employment data, as it's kind of a sensitive subject right now, but I think they'll play ball with you. They know what we know.kaydee wrote:In the same boat. Great points. I've heard that Loyola responds with a generic "our policy is not to match scholarship offers with other schools", so perhaps trying to leverage isn't the right approach at all? Anybody have any experience/thoughts on this?CO2016YEAH wrote:USD and LLS are now tied at 68. Pepp is now 61. USD had more 2011 grads employed. My sig-o just started opening the letters for me. I was a little surprised at that but then she pointed out I always asked her too anyways since I was inpatient. She was eight.

I know that decisions were rendered only a few days ago, but did anyone receive anything yet?

I'm in the same boat. Decision rendered 3/18, waitlist letter received 3/21. I guess it's better than a rejection :/

I got my acceptance during what seemed to be a wave of rejections (I even cried when my uncle told me I needed to call my mom because I got a letter from Loyola - I was out of the country). So don't lose hope! <3

Re: Loyola (Los Angeles) c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I'm sure this has been asked in earlier pages, but has anyone successfully upped their scholly? If so, how did you go about it? I got a decent offer from LLS, but have also received better offers from higher ranked schools. WL for UCLA and still crickets from USC...
I'd prefer to stay local though as I'm not sure I can afford to move cross country and working full-time right up to when school starts, I don't really have the time to visit faraway schools and look for apartments.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
