I decided to give the admissions office a call today, in order to find out my status, only to be told that my application is still "pending review". Now I'm confused in whether I should even be expecting a letter or not. Has anyone else had this happened to them?
Yes, and it has been discussed in this forum thread, so you can read through it for details if you want. Basically though, there are 4 possible decisions that can be rendered upon an application. Accept, Deny, Waitlist, or Hold. If your status checker indicates that a decision has been rendered, and the admissions office is telling you that your application is still pending, its likely that they decided to place your app on "hold". This means that they will review it at a later date. Its very late in the cycle for this to happen though, I think by this point they probably have a very good idea what their incoming class will look like. Seat deposits were due on April 1st, so most people have committed/withdrawn at this point.

When did you submit your app?

I submitted my application on Feb. 11 and was already placed on hold on Feb. 19. This would be the second time they review my file, so I doubt it is another hold.

They are good. I am 95% sure I will be working at the firm I have been clerking at part time for almost three years. The firm has about 10 attorneys. I expect to make around 60k and work 45-50 hours per week. In July I am going to start looking for other prospects.

If you want a job, network. I have had 5 legal positions throughout law school and only 1 required a resume.

Beautiful. Just what I wanted to hear. =)

Looking back at freshman year, is there anything you would do differently knowing what you know now? Any tips?

No. I did not get the best grades, but I got way above average. I was able to spend time with my wife and family.

I have not yet been admitted but I retook the LSAT on June 10th and I am awaiting my score...

From what the admissions office told me, the final decision will come much faster than the first round of application. This is because when FIU receives your new score it gets automatically referred to the admissions committee again and they review it.

I sent an additional LOR, did a law school tour, sat in on a 1L evening class, and have called every few weeks to check the status...fingers still crossed!!!!!!!
