Checking in as well. Utah looks to be the best of all mountain west schools. Sure CU gets the hype but the employment numbers are better for Utah... by a fair bit.
Really hoping to get admitted.
I know that you can get in state tuition after a year and a summer but does anyone know if they ever offer out of state tuition waivers? I doubt it but thought I would ask!

The law school says 40 credit hours... Which basically means you have to take classes the first summer. Not a big deal but three years of in state tuition would be better than 2 (summers are charged the in state rate which is nice).

Good to see ya'all going for the U! Expect to wait a pretty long time to find out if you're admitted/scholarships, I applied in November and didn't hear back til March. I'm a 1L going through finals right now and it's hell, but the school is great, the professors are phenomenal, and the only thing really lacking are the facilities.

Yeah, don't beat yourself up waiting. What were your numbers?nickb285 wrote:Jesus fucking Christ. That's ridiculous. Well, thanks for the heads up--I'll try to avoid getting (more) neurotic for the next three months.coldshoulder wrote: I applied in November and didn't hear back til March.
Glad to hear you like it, though. Facilities are supposed to be done in 2014 right?
Ha...the current dean is leaving, and I'm sure that'll slow down construction. They were planning on having it done end of '14/beginning of '15, but I'll be shocked if it's done before fourth quarter of '15.

I'd be surprised if you didn't get in with those numbers.nickb285 wrote:3.17, 169. Hoping they need the high LSAT.coldshoulder wrote:Yeah, don't beat yourself up waiting. What were your numbers?

Yeah, I heard Chodosh is going somewhere in California or something, isn't he? It's too bad, he seemed like he knew what he was doing.
Oh well, I guess I'll get one semester in the new building anyway.
Yeah Chodosh is brilliant, he's going to be president of Claremont-McKenna.

Congratulations Nick! I am now lamenting the fact that I didn't get my apps in sooner.
Oh well. Now its the long wait until the new year for me!

Also got the call today
Did anyone who was accepted receive scholarship info with their packet?

Grats! When did you go complete if you don't mind me asking? Did your status checker change? The more I read about Utah the more I want to go!1693 wrote:Also got the call todayDid anyone who was accepted receive scholarship info with their packet?
I will probably just stare at my phone until it rings with a SLC caller ID.

Re: University of Utah c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Good tip! Luckily my phone says the city below the number. I got a call from Laramie WY the other day and I was like, "huh." Then I remembered what's in Laramie. It was a pretty funny 1 second long internal monologue.nickb285 wrote:Congrats 1693! I haven't gotten the packet yet, but like I said, Aguilar claims scholarship info won't go out till the first week of March. Hopefully it'll actually be earlier and he's just doing a CYA, but I'm not expecting anything anytime soon.
Also Pip, I don't know about 1693 but my status checker still hasn't changed from "In Review." And SLC area code is 801.
