Just admitted via e-mail. 168, international. Applied ED (far shot, I know), WL and RD admit.
As far as merit scholarships go, does anyone know if we need to ask to be considered for one or is it automatic? Also, do you think it would make sense to tell GWU now if we're choosing between them and some higher ranked schools (i.e. would only go to GWU with money) or is it too early for that?

From what I've been gathering on the forums, it's probably best to wait until Jan/Feb to start negotiating (a lot of schools don't release merit aid info until then anyway).

It appears that from last years thread people were notified via email that they were being considered for merit aid in Jan/Feb.

lol I think i got this right after the northeastern e-mail so what should have been happiness was really just more frustration, but i have a little perspective on it now and can't complain.alwayssunnyinfl wrote:feralinfant wrote:in today via email.

So this is dumb but I can't seem to find the online status checker anymore.. I had them all bookmarked in my browser for every school I applied to and it's no longer at the link I have saved. Did it move?

Accepted Monday. I applied early December, so I was not expecting to hear back from anyone until January. I'm so happy, but now even more anxious to hear back from others. Good luck everyone!

Accepted earlier this month, officially withdrawn today to attend elsewhere. Hopefully this opens the door for someone else -- best of luck to those still waiting ... I did my MA at GW and it's a great place to go to school.

Re: George Washington c/o 2016
It seems people who applied in December have already heard back... I applied in September, but then retook the LSAT in October so I technically went complete on 11/6/12. Still no word and no status change since 11/6/12. Does anyone else have the same situation or have any insight? I think I'm kind of on the fence with 164/3.95 but I'm surprised that I haven't had a status change in so long considering how early I applied...

I haven't had a status change since my initial complete on 11/9/12. I'm not sweating it, though: seems like the folks with responses are all easy clear-cut decisions. There should be a flurry in January as they, like a lot of the other schools, handle the muddled middle of their applicant pool. Keep the faith!dpm54 wrote:It seems people who applied in December have already heard back... I applied in September, but then retook the LSAT in October so I technically went complete on 11/6/12. Hmmm. Just got an email about setting up an alumni interview. Applied in September, 169/3.6.
I'm guessing this is related to my C&F, but are there other instances of GW requesting interviews? It says "based on the strength of yr app," so I can't tell if maybe they want to throw a lot of money at me or make sure I'm not a crazy.

Also just got the interview request. My read is that the interview process is for borderline candidates (a la Georgetown's interview process), so don't get too excited.criminaltheory wrote:Hmmm. Just got an email about setting up an alumni interview. Applied in September, 169/3.6.

I also just got an alumni interview request with a 170/3.92. Do we know if these are for borderline candidates and what topics are covered in these interviews?

Haha, thanks for shooting down my borderline theory. 170/3.92 is a few ticks north of borderlineCMC88 wrote:I also just got an alumni interview request with a 170/3.92. Do we know if these are for borderline candidates and what topics are covered in these interviews?
Maybe they asked you to test out your interest level (for YP purposes)?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
