Morning all.
waiters - the suspense is killer but hang in there! i find it doubtful that they would be making you wait THIS long just to turn away. i think good news is in store
to all those turned away yesterday - congrats on cycle coming to a close. I feel SO much better now that this process is over, it really brought out a lot of anxiety and now i can get back to living life and being myself, which feels amazing. I have to admit i was pretty bummed last night, thought there still might be a way but after a good nights sleep i woke up feeling refreshed, reborn and insanely excited about my options. WE MADE IT!!

Congrats on your cycle Az. You really killed it and now you have so many great choices. Have you decided between penn h/s btw?

Thought - do you think they'll even do any decisions in the next two days, or do you figure they've dropped everything to focus on the admit days?volp wrote:oh. well from this thread I guess it's a WL, not a dingvolp wrote:ding ding dinglast night by email

Re: Yale c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
Been doing a lot of soul searching since last night, and as of right now I'm leaning toward pulling off the WL. I have the check made out to HLS, but I haven't quite sealed the envelope yet...
A big factor for me is the fact that I think my large public school was held against me. I don't know how well I'd fit in with 200 people from Ivies, and I don't know how warm I feel about the fact that I am probably seen as bottom of the class potential.
I'm waiting until after Harvard's ASW to make a decision, but this is what I'm thinking.
Good luck to y'all. It has been an interesting cycle, and I'm glad I got to know you guys through the process. Have fun wherever you end up

Hopeful I think you could probably send a very nice email and be justified. "I saw your twitter feed, but didn't receive a decision so I wanted to confirm that my app was indeed active. Im in no way trying to rush you etc etc"HopefulBulldog wrote:Thought - do you think they'll even do any decisions in the next two days, or do you figure they've dropped everything to focus on the admit days?volp wrote:oh. well from this thread I guess it's a WL, not a dingvolp wrote:ding ding dinglast night by email

Re: Yale c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
yeah dont think theres a significant cultural difference between YLS and HLS. HLS is a lot bigger so there is some increased diversity there, but a quick glance through the FB group still shows that ivies and other top 20 schools (which includes a number of large public schools) are the vast majorityRedShift wrote:I'm also from a large public school and I've had the exact same thoughts about Yale. I'll be depositing at Harvard, but to be fair they have a ton of people from Ivies, too.sabanist wrote:Been doing a lot of soul searching since last night, and as of right now I'm leaning toward pulling off the WL. Re: Yale c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
I know HLS is going to have a huge number too, but it never seemed to me to be at the exclusion of others. HLS didn't make me feel like I was having to fight to prove myself despite my credentials just because they weren't name brand, but YLS definitely gives me that vibe.RedShift wrote: I'm also from a large public school and I've had the exact same thoughts about Yale. I'm glad I'm not alone in this.

FWIW, the only 2 people i know who currently attend YLS are from large public schools. they do exist there, even if not in the hugest of numbers :pRedShift wrote:I'm also from a large public school and I've had the exact same thoughts about Yale. So is it even worth it to get on the wait list? They take so few people...
