As much as I tell myself I have great other options, and that I have very little chance at getting into Yale at this point, as soon as I hear emails or calls or going out I go crazy and start checking my email every 30 seconds...

I suppose I am spared the "checking my email" or "refreshing my email" reflex since my phone just vibrates whenever I get one.

Yeah, Yale, resort to the email-only approach the one week I'm out of the country and thus have no data on my phone and thus can't check my darn email regularly!!

@ylsadmissions: We sent so many offers out today we blew up the power grid!
Well I feel like a loser for not getting one when they sent out enough to blow a whole city's power grid!

It's New Haven. They would blow up the power grid by sending out two admit emails.

I think the tweet actually implies they sent out FEWER than they expected, since the power went out early. /wishfulthinking

Lol. Well played. Edamame are you a URM?

Yale is least diverse of the T3 and that's ok, each school has a different focus. But are you suggesting that you have to be above the medians to get in as a urm. Maybe that's how they do it.

I am not a URM, so IDK if that applies to me.

He was definitely not suggesting that. Sometimes, clusters of admits tend to have a greater or lesser number of URMs or non-URMs. In those cases, you can compare the two to get a very vague idea of where the bar is for each group.

I'm going to force myself to assume that decisions will be the same time today as they were yesterday and not check in here or my email for the next two hours. It's sad that this is a challenge.
