I'm flying out from California for the April 5 preview day. I'm already decided on BU and thrilled about it. I'm making this trip mostly to check out the city and find a good place to live. Pm me if you'd be game to meet up for a beer and explore the city between the 4th and the 7th.

I sent a request last week as well, and followed up with more information on Monday, but I haven't heard back aside from a basic acknowledgement.AlanShore wrote:Anyone hear back on scholarship negotiations? For those negotiating scholarships, did they initially contact you? Also, how long after admitted did they notify you?

Re: BU 2012-2013 Applicants
I got my award back in Jan. with my acceptance packet, and then a couple weeks ago received an unsolicited 3k/yr in additional scholarship funds. I replied to that email asking for more using other offers from higher ranked schools and from BC since they seem to compete pretty heavily for the same people.Gene Parmesan wrote:For those negotiating scholarships, did they initially contact you? Was curious about this as well. Called up financial aid today and found out that for merit aid they only notify students if they are receiving aid, and that they are constantly making decisions so no definite time frame.Gene Parmesan wrote:For those negotiating scholarships, did they initially contact you? Would love to get some anecdotal info as well from people here.

Re: BU 2012-2013 Applicants
Just got scholarship info via email. 45k for merit based over 3 years. Although it mentioned they reviewed my need base application, there was no mention of a need-based award. Might try negotiating since Minnesota gave a better offer. PM for numbers if you guys want

Congrats to everyone hearing. Did you completion date update prior to receiving a call/email? I'm still stuck on 2/27.

Re: BU 2012-2013 Applicants
Heard back about my negotiation attempt. They matched my BC offer, but didn't match my highest offer (from a T20 school). I guess that makes it pretty clear who they see as their main competition, not that it comes as a surprise.

They didn't match or even increase my much higher offer from a T20, and I didn't give them my BC because I'd rather go to BC if tuition is equal anyway.ks2499 wrote:Heard back about my negotiation attempt.
