Here are some things they asked me when I went in for my on-campus interview last year:uconjak wrote:Got a call last friday for an interview, looks like i am in chicago on jan 4....burrrrrrrr any ideas on the questions?
-Tell me about yourself. (This was pretty blunt and I wasn't ready for this)
-Why Northwestern?
-Why do you want to be a lawyer? When did you know you wanted to be a lawyer?
-Do you know what kind of law you want to practice? What are your short-term/long-term career goals.
-Out of the things listed on your resume, which experience did you learn the most from? Which experience were you the most passionate about?
-If you're relatively young (e.g. undergrad or recent grad) be prepared to defend why you think you're prepared for law school despite your lack of work experience.
And be sure to prepare plenty of your own questions since they'll give you time to ask them towards the end! Good luck!

I don't know what it means at all! Probably 1st read. I haven't been good about checking the status checker, but I really really hope there's a January acceptance coming...cusenation wrote:No update for mecomeonletsgo wrote:WAT right back at youalwayssunnyinfl wrote:WATcomeonletsgo wrote:Status checker updated on 12/26. +1 for having a shitty answer for "tell me about yourself". Basically just reiterated my résumé. I had insightful answers ready for minute details of my work experience, etc but some of the big picture stuff caught me off guard.cusenation wrote:Here are some things they asked me when I went in for my on-campus interview last year:uconjak wrote:Got a call last friday for an interview, looks like i am in chicago on jan 4....burrrrrrrr any ideas on the questions?

ED applicant here. Still "complete" as of 11/14... absolutely zero movement which is somewhat (read: extremely) disconcerting. Called the admissions office and they said to expect a reply no later than next week so ... hopefully good news to those ED applicants still up in the air? SIGH.

Oh wow that does sound extremely stressful. If it makes you feel better I highly highly doubt a ding is coming your way. At worst you'll be deferred and admitted RD or something , good luck!ashockofpink wrote:ED applicant here. Re: Northwestern Law C/O 2016 (2012-2013 Applicants)
Hey guys, I'm late to this party but need everybody's advice. I live in NYC and am applying to NW law, my plan was to interview off campus with alumni but i just realized they had a deadline of 12/1 (wtf?). I took december lsat so I starting filling out the actual forms a few weeks ago and just now realized this. For some reason the on campus deadline is like three months later but i work close to 80,90 hours a week and its really hard to get away. couple questions
1) do they pay to fly you out, put you up etc.
2) should i fly out same AM and come back same PM if not
3) how important is it that I go through all this trouble for admission
4) will they accomodate a phone/skype interview given the circumstances?
gpa ~4.0, lsat ~170. 2 yrs WE in finance.
i received a fee waiver after the October LSAT and have been receiving a bunch of other list-serv type things from NU since, if that matters at all.

1) Of course not.az21833 wrote:Hey guys, I'm late to this party but need everybody's advice. 2) That's up to you. How could we possibly answer that question?
3) Probably doesn't really matter, your numbers should be good enough.
4) Maybe not, it's not their problem you didn't read the instructions.

whoops, completely meant NU law. Looks like the next available interview date on campus is 1/31. Is it worth delaying review of my application to review? It seems like it is so I think I'll go ahead and sign-up.
