Should I write a LOCI to UCLA even though I haven't heard anything back from them yet? My LSAT is on the low end but my GPA is right in their range.

This is purely anecdotal from having interacted with the administrators this past weekend, but it seems like they really focus on fit and students really finding their niche at the school. I'm not sure if you did a programmatic contribution essay, but it may help to discuss this instead of a more generic form LOCI. :) AGAIN, completely anecdotal and as far as whether on not you should submit, I don't know. However, if you do, I would say ^.

I've seen through this thread and the Splitters thread two people clear the UCLA waitlist. From the memo that I received when i was put on the WL they said there would be no action til May 1? Anyone have any insight into this?

I'm confused as well. I gave in and sent in a letter of interest via email today. Not sure if it'll hurt or help, but the lady who answered my email was very friendly about it.

Yes, do it. I sent two - one in January and another three weeks ago. Seven hours after sending my LOCI, I got an interview. Had the interview the next day. In the following day.

Could have been coincidence though. Doesn't hurt to try!

Thanks for the encouragement! I am happy that I sent one in. At least this way I feel like I'm being proactive about it. I'd love to go to UCLA. I was waitlisted at USC, so who knows. It's pretty late in the game but I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

How long after getting in did most people get a scholarship offer?

Sorry to hear about the dings/WL's. I sent an LOCI yesterday as well. I guess I've been lucky enough to avoid a WL/ding for another day at least.

For this cycle, you're well within range. Someone on LSN with your stats got a scholly of 60k. Did you write a programmatic contribution?

Didn't hear anything for several weeks, then I got the email with the financial aid "award" (i.e. loans). I emailed with a competitive offer from a higher-ranked school and got an offer a few days later. Good luck!

What a coincidence. I also sent in an LOCI last night. Seems like I survived another day though. Fingers crossed and knocking on wood!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
